There are some auto-responder plugins for word press, some are free. And there are services like Aweber, Getresponce, i-contact etc.

Sometimes I wonder what might be the dis-advantages of using Auto-responder plugins instead of the services where you have pay each month? There must be some!

The thing you want to watch with autoresponders is that your email gets delivered. So you want a reputable autoresponder service provider who has a good reputation with ISPs and ESPs* so that they don't automatically block mail coming from that autoresponder service.

One of the things that can help with this is that the company will remove all known spammers from their system (as required by law) and reduce spam complaints to the users by being picky about junk leads being added to their system. The point is one spammer can ruin the reputation for everybody that uses a system.

There are just some things you don't want to skimp on and that is one of them.

More or less the same concept with traffic. Junk traffic is almost worthless, so most 'services' that say they will get you 1000000 traffic hits are not very effective unless they use good, sound SEO techniques.

What you need is TARGETED traffic - done by the use of keywords that are relevant to what you have on your site.

Gimmicks in general have a very short shelf life - as soon as Google learns about 'tricks' and schemes they will completely ignore and even may black list sites that use them.

There is nothing like the real work that needs to be done - real UNIQUE CONTENT, and building real BACK LINKS to your site from article directories, blogs, and social networks where you post your UNIQUE CONTENT.

When it comes to auto responders it is a case of you get what you pay for. If it is free it will become expensive in the long run as you will have to change to a pay for service like Awebber or i contact and that can become quite messy and expensive

I used to use two free autoresponder-"List Wire and Email Ace". A lot of technical error. Customer support not responsive. And that's not good.

You are much more experience than me so you should know that professionalism in business is an important element to success.

One of the obvious disadvantages with free auto-responder services is, you cannot earn referral income when you promote/recommend these services to others unlike with the ones that require regular payments, like GetResponse or TrafficWave, you can earn lucrative income for referring customers.
