Adding an article directory to website

Hi,

Recently I am trying in a new thing, adding a new article directory to my website. I am trying to use "article dashboard" software to install it to my website. After I uploaded all the files, the last main thing I failed to install.

I am having my main site and I wish to add another subdirectory for the article directory. For example, my main site is www.mydomain.com. I want to add the article directory to www.mydomain.com/articledirectory/index.php but I got stuck here. The programme asked me for my base path and base url.

What should I write for the base path and base url so I can use "www.mydomain.com/articlediretory/index/php" to open the my article directory?

I tried with :
1) for base path:
- /home/mydomain/mydomain-www
- /home/mydomain/mydomain-www/articledirectory
- /home/mydomain/mydomain-www/articledirectory/index.php

2) for base url:
- http://www.mydomain.com/articledirectory/index.php

When I use http://www.mydomain.com/articledirectory/index.php for base url, I can see the site with functional link and can login but no tables and images. When I refer to the page source, it shows that every link to images and categories are with "http://www.mydomain.com/articledirectory/index.php/_____". I know this is totally wrong, because my images and categories are not in "index.php" page.

When I use "http://www.mydomain.com/articledirectory" as the base url and " /home/mydomain/mydomain-www" for base path or any other base url and base path listed above, my browser show me "no database selected".

I hope anyone can help me fix this thing. Please. It makes my head burst of thinking which way can fix it.

Regards,
Alex
