Installing New PIP Site Designs

UPDATE: New Designs are READY. You can check them out here: New PIP Designs

Use the Theme Switcher to check out all the different designs.

The service is ALL READY to go. You can watch a short video here:

Design Demo Video

I can also help with most other themes if you have one in mind that is not listed, but it is a little more expensive since there is more work involved. I want to keep the cost of this as low as possible. I will also be creating a video that shows for the most part how you can do some of it yourself.

Check out the New Designs NOW!

A few people have already taken advantage of them. I will be posting links to those sites soon.

--------------------------------------------------

Hi everyone.
Many of you already know me, I'm Darrin from PIPSiteHelp.com
Since the new Web 2.0 version of PIPs has gone live recently and the program now starts out with a Wordpress enabled site, I have been working on offering a few new services that will help you to distinguish yourselves from the rest of the pack.

One of the most common questions I always get is,

"Can you change the whole layout/design of my site?"

It was always easiest and least expensive to simply change the site's color but changing the entire layout and designing something completely new was expensive and time consuming. But now... since the sites are based on Wordpress, we can do almost anything.

I have been spending my time figuring out how we can adapt the content of the existing PIP site, the home page articles, newsletter sign up boxes as well as the sidebar banners and ads, into a completely new layout and design.

I finally have it 99% complete and will be making that service available to everyone very soon. I am also developing some new training videos that show you how to get around your Wordpress administration area as well as how to install and use some of the most important and useful Wordpress Plug-ins.

Of course, color changes, Adsense, linkmachine and even Mega site services are still available even on the new Wordpress format if you're interested in those too.

I also have a really exciting project coming out soon that will allow you to receive professionally written reviews of popular Clickbank Products with your Clickbank ID automatically in them. More on that later.

I am hoping to have live webinars for those who are interested and I really want to provide a number of free services as well. your input is very important to me as well.

So could you please take a minute to let me know the kinds of things you are interested in learning or the kinds of things you'd like to have someone else do while you focus on driving traffic to your site?

I am hoping to provide the very best services at the most reasonable rates possible.

Thanks and I hope to hear form you.

To your greatest success.

Darrin

Re: Installing New PIP Site Designs

Great news, Darrin!

One of the most critical areas particularly if people are going to attempt changes to their site is to show them how to back up their site BEFORE they attempt anything in a strange land.

Most of the sites that get corrupted I am able to just install the original template in their Wordpress blog dashboard - however others have completely wrecked the installation both at Wordpress and in HostGator - in this case I have to start from scratch and they WILL lose their blog posts in the process unless they are backed up.

It would also be very logical in this regard to not only teach them to back up but then to restore from the backup.

I am really glad you are back in the loop with technical training.

Pat,
Excellent idea.
I think I will make that first on the list.
Thanks for the input.

Re: Installing New PIP Site Designs

Hi Darrin - just some more suggestions based on feedback I get on the helpdesk.

The number one difficulty people have is the Site Map instructions. From where I sit they are perfectly clear as Stone outlines it. For some reason (I suspect download and upload process) several people just cannot do it no matter how many times they try.

I suggest you have a service to do the Site Map for them. (As I said Stone's instructions could not be more clear and when I try to break them down for them (say it slightly differently) it doesn't help - I then send them to Google Webmaster to follow their directions and that still doesn't help.

(this is day 14 and 15 of the 30 days to success training)

Day 14 is about the Wordpress piece
Day 15 is about the verification process

(unless it has been moved) - just know there are two parts.

------------------------

They want instructions on:

How do I add my picture?

How do I add banners?

(on this I will add or remove banners free of charge at the helpdesk but only for PIPS core programs - that is programs that are added or removed from the sales page)

They need help to add banners for other programs they may want to include on their websites.

---------------------------

As you know I am highly in favor of you having the different templates that can create unique home pages and I think this would be the next biggest question -

How do I change the look?

... which will be answered by your new service.

Hi, I ways also planning to purchase the video series but was hesitant because of all the changes. I would like to learn how to put banners on my home page such as for "TrafficSwarm", which I would like to believe we all use and promote.

Re: Installing New PIP Site Designs

Urgent Need.

RSS Feed instructions -

I always assumed this was automatic in Wordpress as long as you had done Feedburner - but in some cases it doesn't find an RSS feed @ Feedburner -

So there must be something we need to do in Wordpress.

WE do check to enable

XML-RPC Enable the WordPress, Movable Type, MetaWeblog and Blogger XML-RPC publishing protocols.

when we set up the site but Feedburner is still generating errors...

CBORGRX - You should probably wait for the new videos to come out. I should have some for changing your site layout very soon.

In the meantime, you might want to have a look at this one on backin up your site.

Re: Installing New PIP Site Designs

Hi Everyone,
Hope I am the first to report on the new templates. Well Darrin just overhauled my site to the WP platform which I just love. I believe newbies to websites will just love these as well. It makes it much easier update with never going to the cpanel. I switch mainly because I just don't have time with 5 different websites to update weekly, my time is better spent marketing.
Thanks Darrin

PS hope that anyone on the fence will go over to the pipsitehelp and check out Darrin's templates their great.

Patrician 19th April 2011 08:15 PM

Re: Installing New PIP Site Designs

I love the template Mark but with all due respect I do not like 3 blog posts displayed and then that duplicate article that is on there.

Why? It looks like a 'monetized blog' rather than a blog enabled website.

Why? Because your affiliate programs are pushed way down to the bottom as if they are an after-thought - and they are not - they are the point - sales.

This was the reason we only displayed one blog post by default and I lobbied to move the article to the bottom rather than the affiliate programs - but that part didn't happen.

darrinmcl 19th April 2011 09:13 PM

Re: Installing New PIP Site Designs

You can adjust the number of posts that view in Settings - Reading. There you can specify only 1 post to show on the home page.

Re: Installing New PIP Site Designs

I am so happy to see this service but have questions. I am not sure I want to change my site when it is #1 on Google right now. Would it be O.K.? Also, how do you add an
affiliate site like another page of your domain? For example: YourDomain {dot}com/AffiliateProgram{dot}html Or AffiliateProgram{dot}YourDomain{dot}com

And,is it necessary or important to have all the banner ads on all the pages?

darrinmcl 21st April 2011 06:34 PM

Re: Installing New PIP Site Designs

It would not hurt your rankings since you are just changing the template and not the content.
With regard to adding another page you have two different examples. One is where you would simply create a new post or page and the other is where you would create a sub directory. With wordpress you would simply add a page within the admin panel and add your content to it. It's quite simple.

markphelps 23rd April 2011 10:29 AM

Re: Installing New PIP Site Designs

Thanks for the comments Patrician I have changed the amount of blog posts to the main page to 1. I believe you are right about bringing up the affiliate programs to the top of the page. Some people who have visited my website in the past were just looking for another affiliate program for their website that they could use. Sales, Sales no matter how you get them is the point. Thanks again.

I just want everyone to know what a wonderful person Darrin is. I had some issues with my website due to changeover of primary domain (nothing to do with WordPress instal that Darrin did for me). Me, not knowing a lot about how things work in the background in CPanel, panicked like mad when my website was non-existent. I sent a HELP! email to Darrin and within a short time he had it all fixed for me and refused to take any payment for it. I would encourage everyone to use Darrin's services as he is the best and his after sales service is superb. Thank you, Darrin.

Hello,
I absolutely agree, Pat from PIPS team, and Darrin, are kinds of people who really generous for their help.
To Darrin, i may report to you, i look into my web after you set new theme Partnerprogramm 1.0.1 and WP Mega Site, i read all articles you provided i really like it. Concerning new theme i notice some points need attention, such as: a little bit overlapping at the header, and i can't remove the paragraph about Resort 360.
Then i try Beach 1.0.2, this one i prefer than Partnerprogramm because at header is very clear.
Thank you Darrin.

Achmad K.W.

Hi Tropical Daydreamer,

I had the same problem as well. What I did was just click on where it says "contact us" on his webpage and it should give you a support link so you can email the support and Darrin or the support will send you a link for the instructions, so you're not the only one this has happened to.

I hope that helps....:)

I sent a message to Darrin for you - it would be nice if either one of us knew who you are - but he will probably come here and post so if you want to leave a clue like your domain name it might help him find your order or email.

He may have been away for the weekend/Father's Day etc.

Your welcome :-) It may take them several hours to reply right back to you on that link, due to such high demand. It took them a few hours for them to get back with me also, but suppose that's to be expected. When they do, it will say something like. " I have not received any instructions from you". But hold tight, coz shortly after that Darrin or another support team will send you that link for those instructions in your email. :)
