StumbleUpon Exchanges
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

I am looking for StumbleUpon users who would be interested in doing a Stumble exchange with me. I have done a few already and know the benefits that it can have on website rankings.

Anyone looking for other users to exchange with, get in here and post the link that you would like a thumbs up and review for. Let's make this thread hoppin'.

If you're not yet a member of StumbleUpon, go to StumbleUpon: Personalized Recommendations to Help You Discover the Best of the Web and sign up for free.

Here are three of my links I would like Stumbled. You can do just one... or all three. Let me know, and I'll return the favor.

Oh... I wanted to add that this is a great opportunity to Stumble your own site, article, blog post, blog, etc.

Stumble a few other people's sites and then do your own. Make sure the last one you do is yours. It will be on top and the first one others will see when they view your favorites.

Okay, I'm going to catch up now.

Okay, I'm all caught up.

Hi Kha, do you have the StumbleUpon toolbar installed? If so, there will be a thumbs up that says, "I like it!" Just click that button. Then, you may have to login and view the "Pages you like" and edit each one to add a review.

Some sites may have a StumbleUpon button that makes this a little easier to do. My homepage does, but my blog doesn't yet. The first method will do just fine.

Let me know if you need any more help.

Actually Alan, I've heard different views on this. Many have advised not to stumble your own posts. It seems SU does not favor this so I've always avoided stumbling my own posts. So that's why this thread you've started is really good. Just hope more will join.

I've heard different views as well. I know some sites are more lenient than others. Some actually encourage you to bookmark your own sites.

I know SU isn't too keen on the idea. I figured a few here or there wouldn't hurt lol.

Oh well, let's get more people in here for the benefit of all of us.

I'm not sure how frequently Google updates the StumbleUpon stats on their search results, but I noticed I only have two Thumbs Up.

Can anyone explain this? When I click on the reviews link, I see that everyone gave a thumbs up, but they're not shown on Google's results page. Interesting...

Yeah, I just checked and I'm missing some thumbs up and reviews from people as well.

Please login to your StumbleUpon accounts and make sure you have done both for every site listed. This is the purpose of doing the exchange and only works when everyone participates fully.

Thanks,

Hi Everyone,

Have you ever wondered whether one of your posts had actually been stumbled? Well you could type in http://www.stumbleupon.com/url/www.enteryourlinkhere, which can get quite tiresome.Well I'm using a quick shortcut on my Firefox browser's “Bookmark Toolbar Folder”, . Now all you have to do to see if a particular page has been stumbled is to surf to that page and then click on the shortcut(Stumbled?) you’ve just created. A great way to check to see if someone who claims they have stumbled you, actually did. That's how I could find the 3 missing names I mentioned all in 7 seconds.

I only wish that I was the one who came up with the javascript for that link, but alas, that must go to the rightful owner of this post.

I simply love this shortcut and makes editing of your reviews/tags so easy to do. So hope you get this shortcut installed on your FF.

That was my problem, i was just giving the "thumbs up" and if it has already been reviewed you don't get an option to add one with the toolbar. As i said above i'll get them done

Yeah, you have to go into your account and click on edit and then add your own. Takes a little more time to do.

Hi Ramiro,

I can't confirm that you Stumbled my site. Go to this link instead...

Work From Home Resources

If you have the toolbar installed just give it a thumbs up. You'll have to log into StumbleUpon to add the review then. Once I see that you've Stumbled it I'll do yours.

Thanks!

I've been on SU for a couple of years now. Here are some things I've noted:

If you're stumbling a blog, just stumble an individual post, not the entire blog.

Don't stumble or submit to this thread more than 2 or 3 posts from the same domain per week.

When you're stumbling a post or site you can highlight an area of the post before you click on the thumbs up, "I like it " icon. It will automatically add this text to your review. You want to get some reviews. Make sure you wait until the balloon to the right of the "send to" icon turns tan, then click on it. You'll be taken directly to the post review. You can then edit the tags and text of your review.

Hi Alan,

I could be wrong here as I am not a stumble expert but from what I can see there are no stumble reviews on my site at all and maybe it's the way all members are doing this. Am I right in this, we should go onto our home pages and in the very top corner you will see 'liked 150 pages’, 300 pages or whatever:-

Then drill into the number shown and this will take you to every page that you have given the thumbs up to since you joined.

There you will see green thumbs next to all of them along with the date you did this and there should be a whole lot of sites with the same date which will help to identify the warrior members which if like mine will be mostly in one date block.

Next to the date there are the numbers of reviews entered for each site which you have to click on which will take you to the reviews themselves which if I am correct should show your own site at the top ready to give a review and you have to click on edit/review which will take you to a box to enter your own quick review. After you do this you may have to refresh or come out to see what you have written but usually this shows as soon as you go back in to see all the reviews for that particular site.

If you don't do this then the reviews don't show and all we are doing is clicking the thumbs up on every site which is not registering as a review, only a historical favourite record which generates other similar sites when you next stumble.

Hope that all makes sense, I am trying to work thru all the warriors that I gave thumbs up to and will get thru them all eventually.

The two sites I requested were:-

Best Home Business Ideas
http://networldgateway.blogspot.com/

cheers ( and happy xmas by the way)

Mal.

Thanks for those tips, they are really helpful.

I'm trying to get caught up with everything. I will check my sites probably tomorrow and give an update of what I find. I will Stumble everyone's sites that I haven't yet.

If you would like to Stumble one of my individual blog posts, here's one I would like to get more exposure...

Here is what I have for my home page so far...

Leon, you gave the review but no thumbs up.
Malcom, still nothing from you.
Michael, still nothing from you.

I think that may be it. Now, I believe you guys. It may just not be showing up for whatever reason. Who knows. I'll get to everyone that I haven't done yet shortly.

Alan
