Yes - you need to submit an application if you want the new host - And please do include your PIPS ID in 'special instructions'.

Your site is down because you changed the nameservers to the new host.

However you have not submitted an application for me to set up your new site on the new host so basically your site is nowhere right now.

Please submit an application and include your PIPS ID in Special Instructions.

I wish everybody would read this thread - all the questions and answers are being repeated over and over --

...because otherwise you are going to be surprised when your site is nowhere once you change the nameservers -- that will be remedied when I get your application for the new host and get your new site built -

HOWEVER the bigger, more unpleasant surprise will be if people are not reading that your BLOG WILL NOT BE TRANSFERRED TO THE NEW HOST and you will have to start over with it -

(Darrin is offering to transfer the blogs in this case -but if you cancel HostGator before he can do that - this opportunity will also be lost.) YOU WILL NEED TO START YOUR BLOG OVER AND LOSE THE MOMENTUM YOU HAVE BUILT along with ARTICLES YOU MAY HAVE PAID FOR.

IF YOU HAVE EITHER NOT READ THE DIRECTIONS, OR NOT UNDERSTOOD THE RAMIFICATIONS OF MAKING THIS CHANGE - YOU CAN JUST CHANGE YOUR NAMESERVERS BACK TO HOSTGATOR FOR NOW UNTIL YOU CAN MAKE ARRANGEMENTS TO TRANSFER YOUR BLOG/EXISTING SITE TO THE NEW HOST.

I KNOW DARRIN IS COMING UP WITH A FORM FOR THIS SERVICE BUT IN THE MEANTIME IF YOU ARE 'BETWEEN A ROCK AND HARD PLACE' YOU CAN EMAIL HIM AT SUPPORT(AT)PIPSITEHELP.COM
AND GET THE BALL ROLLING. - AGAIN THIS IS IF YOU DON'T WANT TO LOSE YOUR BLOG WHEN YOU SWITCH TO THE NEW HOST.

Stone and Pat,

Stone, great customer service idea. Free Hosting.

Pat,

OMG... have you ever got your work cut out for you. Transferring the blog posts isn't an issue. Just one export file from the old blog and import to the new blog database. Darrin should have procedures for this already as he is a blogging specialist.

I may consider this free option just to provide me with a new IP address that is different than HostGator, Bluehost and Namecheap (which my sites are running on).

Good luck with ALL THE WORK that is about to come your way.

Hi Allen - sending you a PM

The issue is once they change the DNS they can no longer login to their existing Wordpress account.

Once they shut down HostGator Darrin or nobody else will have access to the old files to do any kind of transfer.

Wordpress procedures assume live blog to live blog transfer - in this case one blog is essentially dead. Being they are on the same domain name - well I don't want to think about it - it gives me hives. lol.

I was thinking the exact same thing! A great way to get a new solid host different from what we already have to spread things around a little and diversify IP addresses.

i was reading a course I am doing and someone (who uses HostGator) says you can get a new IP address for $1-2 from the host....

this is out of context and i don't have any specifics but that was the gist.

I just ordered another. For the same reason plus I have changed my original PIPS site so much it no longer resembles one.

I figured I could keep this one mostly original, show a before and after of websites plus market it a little. Another site promoting PIPS I may even get another sale or two.

Update:

We have a bunch of folks waiting for the new site.

If you have:

#1 submitted an application to us for the new host
#2 changed your DNS to PIPS servers
#3 confirmed my email that you understand your blog won't be transferred

Then - (drum roll here) you are in the queue.

I am sorry for the delay but Stone and I are just working out a few wrinkles in the process to be sure that it works correctly right off the bat.

Better safe than sorry - should be done within 24 hours for (pretty) sure...

I do apologize for the delay.

Note: If you didn't do one of the above necessary things, you will be hearing from me soon...

* Note - also waiting on Darrin for his solution for transferring customized sites and blogs to the new host.

ATTENTION
OK... Pat and I have worked out the details of moving sites that have had had changes or those who have already made posts to their wordpress sites.

You can read about my service here: PIP Site Help: Domain Transfer

This is NOT a free service. I'm sorry. There are just too many people and it takes too much time to be able to offer it for free. I wish I could, but I can't.

I will take care of everything for you though.

I will:
Back-up your entire site
Export all your Wordpress Content including Posts, Pages, Themes, Comments, etc
Transfer the domain DNS registry
Upload your site to the new host
Re-Install Wordpress and any other scripts like Linkmachine
Import all of your content
Test and confirm that everything is working as before.

This is the best and safest way to make sure that all of your work to date it safely moved and maintained. Your site will not be down for days and you won't lose any of the SEO or linking you have worked to build.

I hope you find this to be of value and will take advantage of it while you can.

This service is strictly just to move your existing site and does not include any new changes, modifications or additions to it. If you have multiple domains running from your Hostgator account, then I can only move your PIP Site and not all of the rest of them.

The cost is $20 and can be ordered here: PIP Site Help: Domain Transfer

I am still waiting as well, but I have faith you both and I know both are working hard on getting everyone's websites up and going! I can't imagine all the hard work and all the pulling out your hair you want to do :-)
We should give Pat and darrinmcl a great big huge applaud for working so hard and cheer them on to let them know we appreciate their hard work and all the hard work they are doing to get everyone up and going among all the chaos!

The transfer option from Darrin is an exceptional offer. Considering everything he is doing, and the time it actually takes to make sure all is up and running... 20 bucks?...

WOW.... That is absolutely a GREAT DEAL even if you know how to do everything your self.

Time IS MONEY... Great offer Darrin.

Re: Major Update to PIPS - New Hosting, New Program
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

Some notes that hopefully will clear up some confusion for people and save me a lot of a time going back and forth.

#1 People are still not understanding that this is a new site with a new blog.

#2 If you have a PIPS Site with a PIPS ID it is associated with your current domain.

I am getting orders for the new host with a NEW (second) Domain name.

This means that the new domain name WILL HAVE A NEW PIPS ID (unless your old domain name is down/gone/expired/you don't want it..

#3 You can run the current site at HostGator with the current PIPS ID, but the one on the new host is going to be BRAND NEW EVERYTHING - - BLANK BLOG - NEW SITE

HAVING TWO DOMAINS MEANS TWO PIPS IDs - FOR THE SECOND NEW DOMAIN AND A 2ND AUTORESPONDER.

================================================

Nobody is transferring (using Darrin's service yet) - If you want to keep your CURRENT DOMAIN, CURRENT PIPS ID, CURRENT AUTORESPONDER, CURRENT BLOG, CURRENT DESIGN, THEN YOU NEED TO HAVE IT TRANSFERRED (IDEALLY BY DARRIN - $20) PIP Site Help: Domain Transfer

Now if you just want a SECOND PIPS SITE WITH THE SAME DOMAIN, SAME ID on the new host - I can do that, no problem. Result - Two PIPS Sites. Same IDs - but you will need to change the DNS to the host with the version that you want to display on the Internet.

It is taking me twice as long to get everything converted because I am getting 99% of the applications with NO PIPS ID in special instructions, email addresses that are not recognized by our database (different) and different, new domain names that require confirmation and setting up everything new as a new member --- etc.

I sure hope somebody reads this.

Every time I think I am making real headway to clear up the back log I am running into a dozen issues that keep delaying me.

I am doing this on a first come (with all details clear), first serve.

================================================== ==

New orders are still my first priority which I am sure you can understand as we need to keep YOUR new customers happy - and somewhere close to our 24 hour guarantee.

Speaking of YOUR new customers, this is going slow also because they are not following the directions. YOU might want to explain it to them.

To have PIPS2.1 with free hosting as of now: (new members)

#1 They are REQUIRED to REGISTER a Domain name at http://www.pluginprofitsite.com/domains/

The DNS will be automatically set correctly -

#2 NO NEW orders will be accepted from any domains registered with other Registrars UNLESS THEY ARE TRANSFERRED TO http://www.pluginprofitsite.com/domains as of yesterday. (NOTE: Transfer is $9.99 - new domain .com, .net, .info @ $9.99)

(Note: Current Members transitioning are allowed to change DNS and use the same domain)

(Up until yesterday NEW APPLICANTS could still have registered a domain name elsewhere and then change the DNS to PIPS) - I am continuing to haggle with these people to accommodate them using whatever domain they registered wherever, as long as they can follow directions TO CHANGE THEIR DOMAIN NAMESERVERS (DNS) to point to Plug-In Profit Site HOSTING.

Transferring Domain Registrars is different from changing the DNS -

Back to work...

P.S.

Once your site is on the new host - your hosting account login details will be posted in your back office. Not sure where yet = waiting to hear back from Stone.

I have them in my view of your profile but I can't find where you can see it yet.

I will report back here when I know.

First group of existing members moving to new host is complete. (7)

Second group of (10) is now complete

Third group will be processed Saturday, however big it grows by then. (completed)

If you have missing details, etc you will hear from me and/or have already heard from me and we will work it out and you will be in the next group to go.

The Free Hosting Account Username and password are now in your back office under 'Stats' (upper left corner of the screen)

If your new hosting account is completed you will see a username and password for the host.

If it says NA then it is not completed yet (hang on)

or you haven't sent an application.

(HostGator details will NOT be there)

Try reading the thread above just a few up.

There is no reason to login to your registrar -

The control panel is http://www.your-domain.com/cpanel

Above is where to find the username and password.

Hi Pat I just wanted to thank you for all the work you are doing on this.

I could not find my WP admin user ID and password so I could start making changes to my site.

In an effort to prevent opening another ticket I did a little search and found this useful video that walks you step by step on how to change your WP admin password in c-panel

Oh - thanks John.

The password is always the same as your PIPS password.

It is also reflected in Day 9 of the training.

OK, Patricia,
One more time, would you please tell me step by step how I move my site to the free host. I have read all the posts, started to fill out the application, then wondered, do I need to transfer my dns first or request to be set up first? Got confused like always Would you pretty please lay it all out in one simple window how to do it?

Thanks so much,

Jerry,

Jerry.

1. You change the DNS to PlugInProfitHost.com

ns1.pluginprofithost.com
ns2.pluginprofithost.com

Here's how from PIPS: http://www.pluginprofitsite.com/dns

Here's how from HostGator: Changing name servers

=================

2. Then you submit an application from http://www.pluginprofitsite.com/form

Please be sure to include your PIPS ID in the 'Special Instructions'

======================

3. Also in Special Instructions Confirm this is your regular first domain and you do not care that you will lose your blog or custom design. **

** If you want to save your site and just have it transferred intact:

Submit an application to http://pipsitehelp.com/domaintransfer.html and pay Darrin $20 for the service.

He will submit it to me to set up the hosting account. (you do not need to do http://www.pluginprofitsite.com/form)

===============================

4. OR Confirm in Special Instructions: If you are using a new second domain that you know the new domain will have a different PIPS ID and autoresponder.

Alrighty then, I have read through this entire thread, from stem to stern, and have had some questions answered; now, it is just up to me to decided which would be better: switch over to the new site hosting/template (and also bid HG a fond adieu), or keep my current site set up.

Personally, I have never had a problem with HG, especially their support; however, I have also never earned any affiliate commissions with them either -- until about a week ago, ironically enough (I make my first commission with them through my PIPS site, and NOW Stone changes things, WAAHH!! LOL).

But after reading through the thread, it is all for the better, I realize. Could someone give me a little feedback: should I stay, or should I go now? Wasn't that a song from long ago, lol.......

You do not need to be a HostGator hosting account customer to be a HostGator affiliate. You can continue to promote HostGator on your website no matter what you decide to do about your hosting.

The issue is as you say either stay with hostgator and current site or transfer hosting to the free host and get a new site new blog.

With this remember the 3rd option is that you do both - You can move your existing site to the free host for only $20 to pipsitehelp.com - who will transfer all the files.

Hello everyone,

I have a couple of questions regarding this service,
I just checked the website and registered for a couple of affiliate programs.

Now my question is, will I still have to transfer my existing domain to the plug in profit site or can I just change my nameservers and use your free hosting? And keep my domain registered at godaddy (I don't really want to pay another 10 bucks for transfering)

Also, I currently have 2 domains ready for this service, one of them is an .info website I made and makes no sense at all (optionfairn.info). Would that be of any use to set a pip on that?

Also, if I read correctly, all I will have to do is generate traffic to my website and you will even support me with that?

So in short the main question is, is it required to spend any money from now on? Or can I just use my domain names and change nameservers without spending anything.

Thanks for reading,

Best regards,

Scylin

If you are planning on moving your site, and you just aren't comfortable with doing a back up, or even have a clue how to do one, below is a link to a FREE PLUGIN that is absolutely the easiest, no brainer way of doing a database back up.

Even if you aren't moving you blog, you should do a back up at least weekly if you are making new posts, adding or deleting information, etc.

Anyway, get this plugin to save you time and frustration if ever you lost your blog.

Google XML Sitemaps Generator

I am not as excited as some over the changes. Some questions that come to mind is can the hosting be on a par with Hosgator on all fields especially on the customer Service/Response? I cannot but wonder why programs are continuously being added just to be withdrawn again. Is it in our interests or in the interest of the program holders?

For your information.

Programs are added when they show promise as a lucrative opportunity for our members.

Programs are removed when members do not participate in them or sell them. We notice that including them does not influence the number of sales of PIPS by MEMBERS.

Others after further analysis have been deemed 'worthless' because the commissions are too low and take too long to sell, or they have administrative issues.

As for hosting I loved HostGator's service and many times I called them at midnight when I had problems with an application.

However my hands were tied in a lot of things because of their security protocols - even a general issue with an error they may have made, they wouldn't fix it without the actual owner of the account contacting them.

In this case Plug-In Profit Site is the owner of the hosting account and so any member that I add to our account will be seen as part of that and I will be able to get support when needed.

There was a major problem ever since we switched to HostGator from Host4Profit because people turn green when you mention technical operations - even as simple as changing DNS (domain name servers) 2 lines -

I had applications pending for weeks while people argued with me about whether they need to do that (absolutely necessary even to install a site, let alone display it on the Internet). Also many people just never responded when I sent the first message to advise them to switch their DNS at their Registrar. We lost sales.

Now domains from PIPS domains are automatically set to the correct DNS (not so with HostGator Registry Rocket about half the time)

So now we have more control and we will be providing more direct service whenever possible.

It's free - some people are happy about that -

For either Pat or Darrin: I saw where my site has been moved over to the PIPS hosting but I can't access it yet. How long before I can access it. Not trying to rush anything just wanting an estimate on down time. Thanks for all the hard work ya'll or doing. And will a Perpetual 20 banner be put on my site automatically or will I need to pay to get one placed on my site?

I am still trying to transfer my domain to PIPS, it is a bit off. From domain to hosting service back to PIPS and then back to filling out all the related form from the relevant authorities. I need a break right now.

Scott - I see that something is definitely wrong.

I will email Darrin since he is doing your transfer.

I will do the banner for you - after we find out what the heck is wrong with the transfer Darrin did.

Just contact the Helpdesk with your Wordpress login details.

You can shut down HostGator after your site is transferred or rebuilt, so no you won't have to pay HostGator anymore.

You never have to transfer your site unless you want to. You can do it anytime.

SEE BELOW and READ CAREFULLY.

1. You change the DNS to PlugInProfitHost.com

For owners of sites who are not yet well-established with the search engines, you can avoid all those headaches of transferring your content by just simply abandoning your "not so old blogsite" in favor of a "new blogsite" from Stone and Pat. Order a new site and say good bye to your old one. That's what I did. This may sound crazy, but it made things simple, easy and duplicable!

Turn your passion into profits.

I think Stone made the right decisions when he decided to include Traffic Wave, Perpetual 20 and Just Host into the System of Plug-in Profit Site. It's not just it helps the Plug-In Profit Site Members have a free hosting and lesser fees, it gives a leap too to the whole
PIPS 6 streams of online income, which makes Plug in Profit Site one of the top home business online today.

I have to say that it took this complete newbie nearly three hours to find the hostgator domain site, change the dns pointers (with the help of a Hostgator chat person) and a great many open browser windows. I'm still not certain I did this right....I'll know tomorrow. What I DO know, from reading everybody, is that "if it were done when 'tis done, then 'twere well, it were done quickly.." before I racked up all the blog entries and all that I would be losing!

I sure hope I didn't just screw myself up.
