Update: Major Upgrades to PIPS - 12/01/11-11/17/12
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

Please see Page 3 of this thread for update 12/1/11
Please also see Page 3 for update 11/17/12

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Members,

Today, 5/16/11, I've released a major update to the Plug-In Profit Site system.

1. I've setup a new hosting option for PIPS. No longer will new members be required to order a hosting account from another company. Plug-In Profit Site will be providing lifetime hosting for free. All a new member will need to do is register a new domain, transfer an existing one, or update their name servers on a existing top-level domain they own and they will be able to sign up for the Plug-In Profit Site. The new requirements and instructions are outlined in Step 2 on the Plug-In Profit Site enrollment page: http://www.PlugInProfitSite.com

2. Since the Plug-In Profit Site will be providing free lifetime hosting for our members, the Host Gator affiliate program has been removed and replaced with Ewen Chia's brand new Perpetual 20 program. Perpetual 20 pays you $20 monthly recurring payment for each member you refer directly to your own Alert Pay account. More details about Perpetual 20 are in Step 1 of the Plug-In Profit Site sign up page as well as on the Account page and throughout the 30 Days to Success training in the Plug-In Profit Site member's area here: http://www.PlugInProfitSite.com/login

Housekeeping:

There are no requirements for you as a current Plug-In Profit Site member to change anything. However, if you do want to adapt to some of these changes, here's a few options for you. If you want your site hosted on Plug-In Profit Site's new free hosting options, you can go to your domain registrar, update your name servers to ns1.pluginprofithost.com and ns2.pluginprofithost.com and then complete a new Plug-In Profit Site application in Step 3 here: http://www.PlugInProfitSite.com

Note: We cannot transfer your existing site. We can only setup a brand new one using the new Plug-In Profit Sit template if you would like. Here's what it looks like: http://www.PlugInProfitSite.com/main-0/demo.html

===

If you would like to earn from Perpetual 20, you would simply need to join and then add your username to your Plug-In Profit Site account through the Account tab of the member's area here: http://www.pluginprofitsite.com/account

Doing this will update your Plug-In Profit Site affiliate link instantly.

===

If you do not want a brand new site setup on our free hosting service, but you would like the large Perpetual 20 banner setup at the top of your site as shown here: http://www.PlugInProfitSite.com/main-0/demo.html , just submit a support ticket request here: http://www.PlugInProfitSite.com/helpdesk that includes your current hosting account username and password along with your Plug-In Profit Site ID# and Pat will install that banner for you.

===

If you have any questions or comments, please post them here in this thread.

I hope you like the changes.

Best regards,

Stone Evans

Whoopeee! Major UPgrade PIPS2.1

This has been a long time coming and I am very excited to start these new sites. This simplifies matters so much!

Just want to note for everyone - the site will still include a Wordpress blog installed on the homepage as with PIPS2.0 = it just does not show in the demo right now...

Wow PlugInProfitSite Domains! PlugInProfitSite Hosting!

Things are really looking UP!

Thank you Stone!

Hi Stone I have a concern would I have to start my post on my blog from scratch? I did add my blog to free traffic system; so I can add the new one to that site and receive fresh unique content? Another concern is do I have to start over again promoting the brand new site from 0 to----------------------------- get listed and ranked? I appreciate everything you have done for me and business and what you will continue to do in the future, Tony.

I Have my PIPS before this major update of new hosting - Can I transfer my PIPS to your free hosting ? if yes does it mean I don't need to pay Hostgator hosting plan monthly anylonger?

If you are using the same domain name you will not start over to get listed and/or ranked.

You would need to transfer you blog posts to the new site.

Note: We cannot transfer your existing site. We can only setup a brand new one using the new Plug-In Profit Sit template if you would like.

This is wonderful :-) I just checked my email from Stone! I just started hosting with hostgator 23 days ago, so I can get my full refund because I am within their 45 day 100% guarantee refund if I don't need their service any longer!
Only thing is if they ask me why I am cancelling, what would be the best thing to say? So once I Sign up with Perpetual 20, I just resubmit my application in step 3, and start over, right? I don't have any problems with that at all! I could certainly use that refund to get into the MWP program, because I was waiting for a little extra cash to be able to join that, now I CAN, this is really awesome news!

Okay I just thought of something, Once I sign up with Perpetual 20 and have my site rebuilt with this installed instead of hostgator does this mean my PIPS username will change which is a number. I'm needing to know because I've signed up to be in Stone's co-op on the 14th, a couple of days ago. So would I have to go and cancel, then rejoin the co-op since it takes that username or ID number for him to place your membership status to active?
Thanks

Hi,
I'm not really following how to do this. Before we got our domain name and were hosted with hostgator and now we get the domain name and hosting for free? Is that right? So how do I change from hostgator to the new plugin profit site host? I don't understand "you can go to your domain registrar, update your name servers to ns1.pluginprofithost.com and ns2.pluginprofithost.com" I don't understand this at all. Where do I find how to do this in Hostgator and swap over? Can I still keep the domain name I currently have for my PIPS website? HELP

Okay, I've figured it out...what's going on, I think...lol. So all I have to do is point my ns1.pluginprofithost.com and ns2.pluginprofithost.com. Cancel my service with hostgator, then go to Step three here >>>http://www.PlugInProfitSite.com so that my PIPS site can be created again, but with the Perpetual 20 installed as the hosting service, correct? So, if my website is rebuilt, then nothing will change except my hosting information, and everything else will remain the same.
Thank you
Jenny

Hi Patricia,

That sounds all good, but still I do have a couple of questions.
1. If I change over to your host, will I lose my website SEO I had done?
2. If I stay with Hostgator would I still be paid commission by them?
3. Where exactly do I find the domain registrar to change to ns1.pluginprofithost.com and ns2.pluginprofithost.com
Thank you in advance for your advice.
Regards, Martin

Wow. Major upgrade. Way to go Stone.

Just a quick question though. My PIPS site is hosted in Hostgator. If I would transfer to the free PIPS hosting, do I also need to redirect my blog post as Ms. Pat said? Also, does the PIPS hosting also has the stats just like Hostgator where we can check our websites statistics? If yes, how to we access them?

Thanks a lot.

Good day Martin,

You can go to http://www.hostgator.com/domains.

Just enter your domain name and password. If ever you'll have problems, you can contact hostgator so they can supply you with the login details.

Inside the domain registrar, you can change the domain nameservers to that of the pluginprofitsite hosting nameservers.

Goodluck.

So if we make this change, will we be receiving a new pips number? Then we would have to change all of our advertising, correct?

I think this is a great idea and will save me some money (hubby will like that!), just want to make sure I understand what we have to do.

I see a number of people asking questions that Stone already addressed in his first post.

Please read his first post again and then read the whole thread to see any questions that may have been answered already.

I would ask you all to just wait a second
. I don't even have the procedures yet to set up sites on the new host WHICH WILL START WITH TONIGHT'S NEW ORDERS.

... and as you can imagine I am going to have a long line of existing members waiting

As Stone stated we do not transfer your sites. We give you a brand new one.

As I have already stated if you are using the same domain name on the new host it WILL NOT AFFECT YOUR SEO OR ADVERTISING.

However there is an issue with the blog posts/articles and they will need to be transferred or copied.

I NEED SOME TIME TO IRON THESE ISSUES OUT AND HOPEFULLY CAN COME UP WITH SOME SOLUTIONS TO HELP YOU AND ME WITH THE TRANSITION.

I WOULD DEFINITELY HOLD OFF ON CHANGING YOUR DNS - WHEN YOU DO THAT - #1 YOUR SITE WILL NOT BE DISPLAYED AND #2 YOU HAVE NO ACCESS TO YOUR EXISTING BLOG IF YOU WANTED TO COPY OR MOVE YOUR POSTS.

I think offering free in-house hosting is a great idea! I haven't been too fond of most of the changes (or lack thereof) made to PIPS in the past couple years, but this one is great. It should increase sign-ups and satisfaction among new members. Well done Stone!

Also, the "Perpetual 20" program looks like something that will fit well into PIPS. Another good change. Hopefully it will be the last program change for a loooooong time.

ACTUALLY I DID ANSWER THIS ABOVE -

AS LONG AS YOUR DOMAIN NAME IS NOT CHANGING IT WILL NOT AFFECT YOUR SEO OR ADVERTISING.

YOUR PIPS ID WILL NOT CHANGE.

NO YOU WILL NOT LOSE YOUR SEO - YOU WILL HAVE THE SAME DOMAIN NAME FOR YOUR WEBSITE AND SAME URL FOR SALES PAGE ETC

YOU DO NOT NEED TO HOST WITH HOSTGATOR TO BE THEIR AFFILIATE. YOU CAN STILL SELL HOSTGATOR FROM YOUR WEBSITE

(IT WILL NOT BE PART OF THE SALES PAGE OR PIPS APPLICATION AS IT IS NOT PART OF THE PIPS CORE PROGRAM)

YOU WOULD FIND THE RECEIPT FOR WHEN YOU REGISTERED YOUR DOMAIN NAME. THAT WOULD BE YOUR DOMAIN REGISTRAR. THAT IS WHERE YOU CHANGE THE DNS.

PLEASE EXCUSE ALL CAPS - DONE FOR EMPHASIS SO THAT OTHERS MAY HAVE THEIR QUESTIONS ANSWERED BY READING THE POSTS IN THIS THREAD.

AGAIN, PLEASE READ THE WHOLE THREAD INCLUDING STONE'S POST, ALL SUBSEQUENT QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS BEFORE YOU POST THE SAME QUESTION

This is a great business move that will bring in more people to PIPS and help with retention as the risk for new members is less.

I agree and we are trying to find a solution.

Do us both a favor and just stay with HostGator until we figure this out. I have Stone, Darrin and Dustin on high alert about this issue
.

The new host has an enhanced level cpanel just the same as HostGator but better.

Yes to God Be the Glory - please say a special prayer for me for the next week until we resolve all these issues that I will not have a heart attack or bite anyone's head off.

Jenny - please just wait ok?

Perpetual 20 will be automatically installed on the new site.

See my posts here on the issue with your existing blog. We need to resolve this before people cut off their HostGator sites by either changing DNS or cancelling hosting.

You would be KEEPING THE SAME DOMAIN NAME.

IF YOU REGISTERED YOUR DOMAIN NAME WITH HOSTGATOR THEY SENT YOU INSTRUCTIONS ON CHANGING DNS (DOMAIN NAME SERVERS) AT HOSTGATOR.COM/DOMAINS (REGISTRY ROCKET)

HELP

Thanks Bruce - but the post was OFF TOPIC - People need to learn how to start a new topic instead of interrupting a conversation - which is rude.

I deleted the post right at the same time you were answering! LOL!

Sounds like good changes!

Please note that anyone who is part of the co-op at bizoppmarketing.com when you change hosting your auto blogposting will not work anywhere unless you give us your new password and we have no way of knowing if you have changed your site or not.

If you do please just send us an email with your full name , PIPS ID and new Wordpress username and password.

Thank you.

I will try as much as possible to keep the passwords the same for the new Wordpress sites. That is - we use your same password as your PIPS account.

IF YOU HAVE CHANGED YOUR PASSWORD FROM OUR INITIAL IMPLEMENTATION THEN I ALSO DO NOT KNOW THE PASSWORD YOU MAY HAVE GIVEN DUSTIN AT BIZOPPMARKETING CO-OP FOR YOUR WORDPRESS ACCOUNT.

THE PATH OF LEAST RESISTANCE WOULD BE WHEN I TELL YOU YOUR NEW SITE IS READY, CHANGE THE PASSWORD AGAIN (FROM PIPS PW TO WHATEVER YOU HAD CHANGED IT TO BEFORE SO THAT THE CO-OP CAN ACCESS).

THE REAL ISSUE HOWEVER IS WHAT HAPPENS TO YOUR EXISTING POSTS DONE BY BIZOPP OR YOURSELF. STILL NO SOLUTION TO THIS.

Please folks - If you are submitting new applications because you want to change hosts - could you please mention in Special Instructions YOUR PIPS ID?

That would be a huge help. Thanks.

Inorder not to loose the work done on the previous domain name. can we register a new domain name for the new website and the leave the other one till we shift all the work done there? but still have the same id number. Another question, on step 3 where we should ask for the new website, I think the process will lead us to be considered a new user, I'm afraid of not keeping my id number.!!!

HI taimourx

Yes you could do that - register a new domain for the new site.

However I really question whether you would want to do that. True you would keep your same PIPS ID - however you would lose all momentum you have built on your present domain name - back links, ads, etc.,

But otherwise it would be fine...

UPDATED BELOW!
My own suggestion for anyone that has done anything at all to their existing sites is to NOT DO ANYTHING YET.

Just wait until you hear more fomr here.

I am working on getting a little more information on this but I should be able to help you move your sites over to the new hosting without losing any of your work so far.

I can't help you if you transfer your DNS though. so please, if you are interested in the FREE hosting, please be patient and wait to transfer your domain. Once you do that I can't do anything for you.

I should have more information soon and will come back here to let you know what to do.

ATTENTION
OK... Pat and I have worked out the details of moving sites that have had had changes or those who have already made posts to their wordpress sites.

You can read about my service here: PIP Site Help: Domain Transfer

This is NOT a free service. I'm sorry. There are just too many people and it takes too much time to be able to offer it for free. I wish I could, but I can't.

I will take care of everything for you though.

I will:
Back-up your entire site
Export all your Wordpress Content including Posts, Pages, Themes, Comments, etc
Transfer the domain DNS registry
Upload your site to the new host
Re-Install Wordpress and any other scripts like Linkmachine
Import all of your content
Test and confirm that everything is working as before.

This is the best and safest way to make sure that all of your work to date it safely moved and maintained. Your site will not be down for days and you won't lose any of the SEO or linking you have worked to build.

I hope you find this to be of value and will take advantage of it while you can.

This service is strictly just to move your existing site and does not include any new changes, modifications or additions to it. If you have multiple domains running from your Hostgator account, then I can only move your PIP Site and not all of the rest of them.

The cost is $20 and can be ordered here: PIP Site Help: Domain Transfer

Good luck Brother.

Hi Pat. May the PEACE of the Lord be with you. I hope and pray you're still ok. I've been following this thread since Stone announced the major upgrades in PIPS.

I've changed my hosting from hostgator to pluginprofitsitehost by changing the nameservers in my hostgator domain registrar as you've instructed. I think my site is hosted now at the new pluginprofitsitehost. I've retained the same domain name.

I've also checked my WP blog and I was able to access it. I also tried publishing a new post. It seemed all is well. Am not sure though with regard to posts made by Bizopp.

Hope this will help. Thanks a lot for your support.

God Bless you.

The DNS can take 24-48 hours to resolve to the new server and that may be why you can still access.

however i can see it at whois.net with the new servers listed now.

- lexworldonline.com is down though -

Don't forget to send me the application with your PIPS ID - nobody has been moved to the new host yet. Nobody will be moved unless I receive their application, and

I am confirming with everyone who submits the application that they know they will lose their articles and blog posts if they do this -- just one more time to be sure they know what they are doing - as not everyone is coming to the forum.

Again - Darrin may have a new service to help you transfer your files but if you shut down HostGator it may not be possible -

Hi again Ms. Pat. Just want to clarify. You said "lexworldonline.com is down". Does it mean that my site will be down after 24-48 hours?

What do I need to do then to prevent this from happening?

Thanks so much.

Hi Stone,

I think this is a great decision. As indicated in discussions we have had Hostgator is quick to pull commissions you have earned fora couple of different reasons such as a person being late making a payment.

But when your hosting for FREE you cant beat that

Take care
