PIPS - Questions...
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

Hello to all,

I never noticed this section of the forum before. I remember bumping into PIPS years ago, but never understood how the whole thing worked. Now years later, when re-reading the sales page, I can see more clearly

I see that when signing up I will be given a website that will promote various affiliate programs, but I still have some questions on things that are unclear.

As far as a domain name for the site, what is the criteria for picking one? I build niche websites and know the power of exact match domains when trying to rank in the search engines to get organic traffic.

Is organic search engine traffic going to be the basis of this site making money?

How are people making money/getting traffic to these sites?

Can anyone help answer these questions for me?
Thanks!

Since the Niche is "Working From Home", "Home based Business" and the like it's very important to choose keywords correctly. People make money from PIPs with every type of advertising possible, from Traffic exchanges to PPC.

Just like any other Niche the domain name should be based on your chosen keywords. Again, a proper and in depth keyword study is needed to find keywords you can rank with and draw traffic from. Working from home is not an easy field to build a business in but it's one of the most lucrative. That's why so many people are trying to do it. But, most don't really take the time to build a good keyword list or even give a lot of thought to their domain name (that's my opinion from seeing a lot of PIPs sites) So keywords is where you start and how you build.

You have an advantage in that you know how to do keyword searches and you are familiar with Niche marketing. Most who come here are brand new and have never heard of or read anything about "Keywords".

Basically you build the business the same as any other Niche site, content marketing, backlink building etc..

Thanks Stephen and Patrician for answering my questions. You both have helped me to gain a better understanding of the PIPS system. My only concern is, as Stephen was saying, the competition that there is with the working from home/making money online niche.

As it looks the website that we get is not unique. If we choose a good domain name based on a good keywords, that's one thing, but the on page content is another. A site having duplicate content is not going to do anything for the search engines, so I guess these sites are better marketed in other ways, perhaps PPC, forum marketing, traffic exchanges, etc.

Thanks again to the both of you for taking the time to answer!

The sales page and the Lead capture pages you are given are perfect to be used in "PPC, forum marketing, traffic exchanges, etc."

The website you are given is a WP Blog and it is completely duplicate content. But, it can and needs to have 100% unique content placed on it and the old content removed. It's kind of useless the way it is but it's easily remedied with new keyword rich content. However, the layout and color etc. are very good as they are. no need to change appearance except by adding your picture to personalize it. (that's also my opinion, LOL)

Forgot to add, it is a very competitive Niche but you can fix that by drilling deep into a keyword search. There are still plenty of money keywords available that will draw targeted traffic and that have far lower numbers of competition for you to use. The competition level is dependent on the keywords you choose.

Sorry Stephen -

The Plug-In Profit Site WEBSITE has always been fully customizable and the new version PIPS2.0 is a Wordpress enabled website.

The first time a member posts to their blog they have UNIQUE CONTENT - not on any other DUPLICATE SITE.

The purpose of a Wordpress enabled website is so that people can add FRESH CONTENT to their HOME PAGE. (the blog is built directly on the domain).

In some versions they can just change their site with widgets.

We do provide the PROTOTYPE site that is fully functional. It is up to the owners what they do with their sites.

But there is really no reason to 'completely remove' it. It's Fine if you do - elsewise.

PIPS2.1 provides free hosting for the website.

Sorry Pat, what you said is exactly what I said, just different words used to say it.

Blogs of course can be customized. The entire purpose of a blog is for easy content management.

There actually is good reason to remove the original content. For purposes of PPC and PR it needs to go as Google does not like replicated websites. The farther away from a replicated site a person can get the better off they are. it is of course a personal choice.

I am confused on one thing, now that I think about it: what kind of sense does it make to have a 400 day autoresponder series with GetResponse, but then offer the TrafficWave Autoresponder opportunity? With GetResponse, you are allowed only 100 subscribers on a free account - with enough traffic, you could exceed that number quickly, then your having to pay. It seems illogical to pay for two autoresponder services, or am I missing the point here?

Also, the price comparison chart on the TrafficWave site is not quite accurate: it says that with GetResponse you have to pay $18 monthly for a 0-500 subscriber list - the actual price is $14 monthly; I know, as I am paying that. I do see, though, how they have a flat-rate no matter how many subscribers, which puts them well above the competition, but still it confuses me as to why the 400 day series was not put into the TrafficWave autoresponder.

I do hope this isn't a stupid question, but then again I have always been told that the only stupid question is the one that is not asked, so.......

HI Dave.

Nice to see you here!

You definitely are missing the point. "or am I missing the point here?"

Traffic Wave is an affiliate program. That's it - an income stream.

You can earn commissions for either selling the autoresponder or referring people to join Traffic Wave affiliate program.

Getresponse is the autoresponder we have always used. (and a little AWeber)

That is the only autoresponder you need - we give you the free account that allows 100 subscribers and when you get 101 then you need to upgrade.

Another thing you need to really consider and that is though everyone loves Traffic Wave and rightly so, Getresponse is an old and established autoresponder service.

I studied this whole thing when doing a presentation last year and one very critical area is the reputation of the autoresponder as well as their favorable relationship with the eMail services providers, Internet service providers and the people that create the Black lists.

You want to be sure of a solid reputation as this will have everything to do with how many people actually receive your newsletter when they request it.

An industry standard that is related but unavoidable with any autoresponder is that only 60% are even delivered - that is due to spam filters and the general traffic chaos created by spammers.

It is particularly relevant to everyone who does 'bulk mailing' - like Internet Marketing companies like PIPS -

The spam filters sometimes can't tell the difference between spam and bulk mail used by legitimate businesses for PERMISSION BASED EMAIL MARKETING.

Fortunately, TrafficWave.net's deliverability rating is FAR beyond 60% which can be verified by a number of 3rd party monitoring systems.

Don't fall for the hype. TrafficWave.net has been around for 11+ years and has a deliverability rating far superior to many other systems which charge you more as your list grows.

The 40% undelivery rate is an industry wide standard - regardless of where it is sent from.

I just wish I had time to search my presentations so I could show you the graphic.

I didn't realize TrafficWave was 11 years old - how come we are just finding out about it?

Everyone speaks highly of the program - not one complaint. We are proud to have it as one of our core affiliate programs.

However - we are not switching from Getresponse and it is quite cumbersome if someone wants to switch on their own. Any of our members are free to do so but they would be on their own.

See below.**

Autoresponder Votes Overall Rating

3 Infusionsoft Review 66
4 Constant Contact Review 53
5 iContact Review 63
6 1ShoppingCart Review 60
7 VerticalResponse Review 54
8 MailChimp Review 56
9 StreamSend Review 53
10 Benchmark Email Review 52

===================================

**
If you switch Autoresponders:

#1 you need to update your home page web form source code with the new autoresponder code

#2 you need to copy and paste all 216 messages one by one from Getresponse to the new autoresponder (there is no zip file)

#3 you need to edit each one and remove the Getresponse predefined values and encoding and replace with the new codes for the new autoresonder - there are multiple links in each of the 216 messages (you could also hard code your affiliate ID and links).
