Are You Inspired ?
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

Hi members,

Staying up late watching the Olympics ( sorry I know I should be working but it's only every four years) I am inspired by these wonderful young people from all over the world trying their very best even when their best may not be enough to reach that dream of a medal and even when all appears lost they don’t quit. They enjoy the love and support of their friends, teamates and family and anything is possible.

Many of the qualities on show are what we strive for in our daily life, the will to win, determination, guts, team spirit, friendship, organisation, discipline and many others. The great expectancy of youth and life reaching out ahead may have passed some of us by now but as I look down at my middle aged spread I still have targets but different ones.

Mine are now success in business which is where Internet Marketing draws on all the above and the life experiences we have had to get to where we are now. I may not run marathons now (yes I used to) and no longer live for sport, I still cycle and occasionally run or go to the gym so my expectations of super fitness are not as great as they once were but I still enjoy the feeling of at least being in reasonable shape because your mind is sharper when you are fit.

So whatever it is you are doing or intend to do, I hope you are inspired by someone or something because life is a marathon not a sprint and we should enjoy it to the full no matter where we are in the race or where we are in life’s great adventure.

just my thoughts,

Mal.

Great post Mal. The Olympic athletes are very inspiring in many ways.

When it comes to my business I was inspired the first time a deposit was made to y PayPal account. It keeps me motivated. A couple days ago I had a great talk with Jeff Schumann one of the PIPs Power Group mentors and learned a lot. The calls are a part of the program and my call was extremely inspiring. It's great when you can talk one on one with the top performers in your business and learn what they do.

One of the things that keeps me most inspired is the thought that success is as close and doing one extra thing each day. Success always sems far away but it's really not.

Hi Mal,
This is a great post, I was just looking for inspiration.
I spent the whole day yesterday watching the Olympics. I tried to work but nothing came up, so I decided to close my computer and watch TV.
There is some magic in the Olympics that makes go and watch it, even you are not a sports person.

Hi Mal

A fantastic post.

Yes I certainly get inspired when I watch the athletes pushing themselves harder and harder to reach their goals. Just to qualify for the olympics would have taken years of dedication, perserverence, (pain in their case), determination and a will to succeed and we need to adopt those same qualities when building our online businesses.

Thanks for sharing.

Cheers for now

Hi Mal,

That is excellent. And you are so right.
The Olympic athletes work 4 years to reach their goals, 4, and they give it their absolute all. Talk about persistence. Talk about spirit. I think that is just awsome, and it definately inspires me to go for gold as well with everything I do :-)

Thanks for the great post Mal.

All the best,
Jim

Hi,

I totally agree with Cyn and Tanny with regards to the dedication and the magic in the atheletes.

I'd just like to state something that I'm very proud of - Singapore has got it's first medal!
It's a surprising fact that Singapore has got ZERO Olympic Medals for the past 48 years and for the first time that there's a Group Table Tennis Event, our athletes gave an impressive fight against the dominating China players and achieved an amazing Silver!

When I heard that my country got the Silver, I was so happy I almost cried. I don't know why, but I was really ecstatic! I found out that the team was aiming for Silver and they got their goal. Even though many Singaporeans were rooting for Gold (who doesn't want their home team to get gold?) and Team Singapore eventually did not get the coveted medal, we still got what we aimed for.

Another event that inspired me was for the 100M Dash Event when Bolt broke the World Record timing. He broke the record before and he broke it again. Leading to the commentator to say "When will we ever find the human limit?" and that stuck with me.

The Olympics are awesome!

I was very happy yesterday. An athlete I coached several years ago was in the Olympic Final, he was very disappointed to finish in 5th place but I was very proud of him.

I know that he has spent the last 12 years training and dedicating his life to this goal. They say that it takes 10,000 hours of focused training to be the best in the world, that's 3 hours a day every day for 10 years, or 6 hours a day for 5 years.

Makes you wonder about how committed the rest of us are to our goals.

I have to laugh when I see people complaining that they haven't made a fortune after 1 week.

If it took 10,000 hours of work to be the best internet marketer in the world, would you do it????

Do you realize how much the best internet marketer in the world makes each month?

I am inspired now. Nice post Mal. I have been watching the Olympics myself and find all of it very inspiring. Over the years I have viewed my Internet business as a marathon and not a sprint, which is a good way to look at it. It will save you a lot of frustration when things don't go right at certain times.

Hi Mal,

Great post.......I find it amazing these athletes work 4 years for a race, a game, tournament, etc. This is quite a goal that 4 years ago must be hard for these athletes to see but their courage, inspiration, dedication, and GOAL setting are what makes it ahppen...

We can all learn alot about what these athletes endure to reach new heights...

Take care

Agree with all the above as it is very much similar to our marathon
For me seeing the reaction and faces of the First GB Gold Medalist in cycling All she could say Is I am happy I am happy She was on cloud 900 she could not even hear the commentator it made me cry with Joy
I also would like to add the Girl from Jamaica cant remember which race but she was laughing all the way She reminded me of my reaction to my first EA and a cheque for $9.95 Pure achievement Pure Joy
So will see you all in London in 2012 I am already visualising my Business then and comparing Posts

Cheers

Hi Mal,

I don't think you were wasting your time watching the Olympics because the olympians are all examples for the rest of us.

If you are a Success University affiliate you may have received a DVD presentation by Ruben Gonzalez, who is now shooting for his fourth consecutive Winter Olympics. I learnt so much from watching and listening to him tell his story.

If you have the DVD and haven't watched it yet... DO SO!!! If not, you can check him out at OlympicMotivation.com.

Olympians have so much to teach us about FOCUS, DEDICATION and COURAGE in pursuit of a CLEAR and AMBITIOUS GOAL.

And I'm not just saying this because Great Britain is in 3rd place on the medals table!

Hi Neonerai,

I just read your post over again... Congratulations to Singapore! I did not see that particular game of table tennis, but I did see some of the Japan v China women's table tennis. I will never underrate table tennis as a sport again! It was riveting viewing.

So well done to Singapore for getting a silver medal.

"When will we ever find the human limit?" - We won't, all the time we build on the inspiration of other people's success.

You have just reminded me that Ruben G. talks about how long it took for the "four minute mile" to be broken by a human runner... (Roger Bannister, 6th May 1954), but then how quickly the new record was itself broken (John Landy, 21st June 1954).

In other words, once somebody shows that something CAN BE DONE, others quickly improve on the initial breakthrough.

Today it looks as if the 3 minute 40 second barrier is under attack... See:

Yes. Realy inspired. The following inspired me:
1- the age of those youths.

2- The fighting spirit of everyone of them. To be pricise, one of the atlethes maitain his runing state 2-3 minute after the race was won by his fellow athlethe. I am emphasising on this particular event because if i was in his shoes i will stop immidiatly someone has win but he continued to the last point, showing that he did not won but he made it.

3. My country played finals in men football. This show with much effort i will get to the finals of the internet marketing.

Hi Hirohurl!

It was indeed very exciting to watch women's table tennis. Did you know that since 1966 when the Women's Table Tennis was introduced, China has NEVER lost the Gold medal? So winning the Silver is already like winning the Gold!

And I totally agree with you about "once somebody shows that something CAN BE DONE, others quickly improve on the initial breakthrough". I think it's all about the mindset - as long as we believe, anything's possible.

The Olympics is officially over and London is going to host the 2012 Olympics. It was a very exciting Olympics with China getting it's biggest haul of Gold medals ever. Good stuff, good stuff.
