Not a good time for this to happen

Hi All

I know it is almost Christmas but I can't blog with this problem. :(

Is anyone else having problems with Blogger yesterday and today? I have been trying to find an error in my left column and when I try to "Publish files" they are not getting to my blog.

1. I made changes to template.

2. Clicked on "Save Template Changes"

3. Says: "Settings Were Saved Successfully" Republish Now (and they are)

4. I click on Republish Now

5. Goes to "Republishing files to your blog..."

6. then goes to "Your blog published with errors.

From there it is like a neon sign or banner. Goes back and forth between #5 and #6 above. After 3 or 4 minutes of that, it finally stops on "Your blog published with errors" and 4 or 5 lines of this message:

"java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out"

Changes are not getting to my blog because when I pull it up it still has the same problems.

Can anyone shed any light on this problem? Is it Blogger or is it me?

Thanks

Leon

Leon why are you still not considering to move on to Wordpress? It gives you much better control and it doesn't have problems like this. Gives a much better interaction and touch of professionalism as well.

Hi Leon,

You might want to contact the Blogger support system
for more help since this forum isn't necessarily the right
place to seek assistance?

Also, I've published to my Blogger account with no
problems - so I don't think there's any issues.

Plus, Ben Pei (lianwei) gave a good recommendation
to move to Wordpress... it's got lots of great plugins
that you can use.

But it's your choice, we can only recommend ;)

All the best!

Asher

Thanks Ben and Asher

Asher - I am using the old version of Blogger on my Pips blog, my other blog using the new Blogger version updated just fine.

Someone started a thread in the "Blogger Help Group" last night after I signed off.

Apparently it is a blogger problem although the fix someone found that is helping most, does not apply to me. Apparently those who have "ftp.domain.com" as their "FTPserver" in settings can drop the "ftp" and it solves their problem.

There is a few of us who do not have "ftp" preceding the domain so we must wait for blogger to get involved and resolve.

On the note of switching to WP, I have seen much discussion about the pros and cons to importing Blogger to WP. Don't have that warm fuzzie feeling yet. Maybe a few more comments in this thread will help me decide.

Take Care

Hi Leon,

I'm sorry to hear of your problems with your blog. I use wordpress and have just set up a new site using wp2.7 ...there is so much you can do with wp that I would certainly consider changing from blogger if I were you. Good luck with it anyway, I hope you get it fixed soon.
