Ideas needed for my ezine
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

With the greatest of respect to Stone Evans, the automatic ezine I have with my Pips site does not appear to be very effective. I don't presume to know much about these things but I do know that I have built my list to over 800 people and only 1 of them has ever signed up to anything. That one then dropped out a month later.
So, I'm looking for any ideas that can help me to improve the take up rates from the ezine e.g. maybe change a few of the follow up emails to something different? I'm a bit short on ideas and knowhow though. Help or input of any sort would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello, Melissa:

You are on the right track to developing a successful Internet Marketing business! The first step is getting started; the second step is looking to an experienced leader to help you get set up properly; the third step is learning and practicing the recommended marketing skills; and the next step . . .

. . . is learning to personalize your website and your marketing materials!

As owners of PIPS websites, we have full control over what we post on our sites and what materials we use to promote our sites. That freedom extends to the PIPS newsletter that we get installed on our sites.

In fact, it is recommended that once we begin to understand the value of adding personalized content to the newsletter series, and once we learn how to add that content, we should then make an effort on a regular basis to do just that.

You can add, remove or edit any of the follow-up emails anytime you want (although there may be a bit of a learning curve as you learn how to do that). If you can write the email follow-ups to be more suitable to your purposes, go for it! If you have access to other effective messages that you can adapt to your purpose, add those ones too, if you can.

But do keep in mind that all of marketing is a process of trial and error: you may have to write a message and test it for a period of time before you truly know how effective it is. Then tweak it as necessary. You can do that with Stone's follow-up messages too: tweak them and personalize them! (But make sure the main message and flow of the letter is still there.)

(Just some thoughts.)

Thanks GT, very good advice. I have already made a start on the things you mention. My website has had lots of changes, though I have a few more I want to make yet. It has new content everyday which is helping to attract a few more visitors. Now is the time, I feel, to make a start on adapting the newletter, though I haven't a clue where to start really. It is going to be a big learing curve for me but I'm quite looking forward to it now

Hi, Melissa ... way to go!

Content is the big thing and it is also one of the most challenging aspects for many marketers. I am a writer with offline corporate clients and I am still challenged to come up with new content on a regular basis for my home business opportunities websites! Fortunately, there are a variety of sources online to get either content, or inspiration for content. But it definitely takes the initiative of the individual to make it all happen ... and you have a great attitude about it!

Hi Melissa,

What I do is when I write a new article I add it to the end of my ezine. I have written over 300 articles so needless to say my follow up series goes significantly longer than most PIPS ezines.

Anybody can do this...

Thanks

Great recommendation, Jeff! I know I have heard you tell it before, but I always get busy with other things and then forget to follow up on your idea of adding my articles and blog posts to my newsletter series!

Thanks for the timely reminder!

Hi GT,

Thanks! Its a slam dunk....its a way to get your content in front of more people. Most people do not add to this campaign and then those subscribers just fall off with no communication unless you send a broadcast....

Perfect way to "extend their stay"..LOL

Take care
