Easy way to create signature in Warrior Forum

Hi guys,

I have noticed quite a few people struggling with their signature in the forum. Okay for anyone who is not comfortable with the html here is a simple way of doing it.

go to your user cp and select edit signature. In the edit siganture box, type in the text you want for your signature ie

This Is My Site - the best site ever

highlight the words you want to be clickable ie - This Is My Site

then look at the icons at the top of the box for the little globe with a link in front of it. The hyperlink icon. Click on it and another box opens. Type in your full website url.
Click save and you are done.

easy peasy.

Great info which I am sure will help a lot of people.

Just to add to your post - If the editor is not showing in the edit signature box, you need to select "Edit Options" from the menu in the left hand panel and scroll right to the bottom to "Miscellaneous Options" and select the WYSIWYG option.

Cheers for now
Cyn

Hey, Graham:

Thanks for this reminder. I can never remember where I saw it, and I keep trying to instruct fellow Warriors. My instructions work, but yours are simpler! :)

Many thanks to you Graham for pointing this out. I admit to struggling to understand the technique for creating a signature pointing to my website. You made this very easy!

Re: Easy way to create signature in Warrior Forum

Thanks for that great info Graham, often the simpler things are the ones that get missed, so often you see "just add your sig file to your post" or such like and no real explanation as to how this is done.
All things are easier if you know how, and in reply to oah3819 I once read somewhere that the only silly (or stupid) question is the one you don't ask. So don't be afraid to ask, I have only been on this forum for a month or so, but they do seem a helpful friendly lot.

Thanks all for the tips so far

Thank you Graham for this easy explanation of creating a signature. I've talked with a few people now about creating one and it seems that most people don't have a clue how to do it. I'll be pointing them to this thread from now on :)

Hi Cynthia, Thanks for that tip. I was getting frustrating trying to work out why I only had an empty box to make my sig until I read your post :)

Thanks Graham Maddison! Great info and easy to understand! Since I had to find out what was allowed on the forum.."signature wise"..Maybe adding the "signature" rule might add more value to your posting

Hi bestofcuba

After clicking on CP take your eyes to the left hand side of the first column.
There your will see "Settings & Options" with red background colour. Under "Settings & Options" , at the second line, you shall see "Edit Signature."

Hope this help.

Really appreciate you taking the time to explain this. Can anyone assist with another help matter? I notice under the first post on a thread it says "the following users say thank you to (the warrior member) for this useful post".

How do I thank someone in this way?

It may be you can't see it until you have a certain amount of posts but there (will) be a 'thanks' button in the lower right corner below every post

Do we have to have a min number of posts to get sigs to work?

If not, then how to I get my old posts to show my current sig?

On some other forums I participate in, when I update my sig, it updates all of my old posts to reflect my current sig.
