Great question.

There are plenty of ways you can increase traffic to your blog.

First off though it is imperative to remain patient with this whole process. If you are at 30 a day, you're not going to have 500 a day for quite some time.

Make sure you are posting to your blog often and give your readers something worth coming back for. Freebies, lists, interviews, how to videos, etc.

You should also be using social bookmarking to drive traffic as well. Bookmarking your posts will give you back links which will begin to add up and will result in free traffic from the search engines.

You can also comment on other blogs, write articles, use traffic exchanges, submit your blog to blog directories, and use press releases to drive even more traffic.

This all takes time and the traffic will begin to add up as long as you are consistent with your efforts.

Best,
Matt

Start to build a relationship with many other friends and bloggers. That's the main objective. You can do this in many ways but the simplest is commenting on blogs. Besides getting more traffic since that's your intent, you get to build backlinks too and that ultimately helps you get traffic too - organic traffic from the search engines. My blog has a "Do Follow" page which gives a long list of do follow blogs with PR indicated. You could start with this to join and build a relationship with some of these bloggers.

Building momentum with your site is very important for long term goals. That is something you need to do. Matt gave you a few very good pointers in how to do that. If you use each method he pointed out you will, in time, see growth in visitor count.

In my opinion there are short term goals that are just as important, if not more important. One of those is conversion rates. What is the conversion rate of your current 30 visitors a day?

By multiplying 30 x 7 you have 210 visitors a week. If those visitors are targeted to your keywords then there is money to be made with 210 visitors. With a poor conversion rate of 1:50 you would have 4 signups a week to your programs. That is 20+ a month and 208 a year. What if you could get your conversion rate to 1:30. Then you have 7 signups a week and 364 a year. Depending on the program you could retire in a short amount of time.

Internet marketing is about more than just driving traffic to your site and it is more than just playing a numbers game. (Unfortunately most people think it is just a numbers game, it's not.) It is about is testing (split testing) and tracking and more specifically conversion tracking. It isn't as hard as it sounds. Simply try adding a banner or changing colors or the template and maybe even the subject of your articles. Change one thing at a time and see what happens. When you get a positive result then tweak the change you made and see what happens. If conversions go up you are on the right track, if they go down go back to what you had and try something else.

Testing and tracking are the ways you make money online. Stone Evans does it all the time. Even though I have read many complaints about the changes Stone makes he does know what he is doing. He tweaks the sales letter and the 30-day training, adds and removes programs, constantly changing, testing, and tracking. If it works it stays and if it doesn't it is on to something else. That is how it is done, it is the right way. Just imagine if you got down to a 1:20 conversion rate, that is 11 people a week and 572 a year with only 30 visitors a day. Now imagine 500 visitors a day at a high conversion rate.

People worry to much about getting the visitor count up when the real money is made in getting the conversion rate down.(maybe that's up also :confused

A part of any real business is education. If you truly want to be successful you must know what you are doing, you have to be a professional. I suggest diligently studying the subject of "testing and tracking" so you know exactly how it is done and maybe more importantly, why it is done. Knowing this will put you far ahead of the majority who refuse to waste time in such things.

Get this part of internet marketing down and "visitor count" will be 2nd place in making money.

Sorry about the rant
Steve

Note: I am not saying those here and the author of this thread are not studying hard to build their business. It is a suggestion for those who are serious.
