However, there are certain mistakes that you cannot make as it can ruin your chances of ever making your online presence known. An online business is just like any other business as you will need to have patience and it requires a lot of hard work to get to where you need to be. If you are determined to see your online home business become successful, then you need to avoid these simple mistakes.

1. Don't Rush

Most people who try to start an online home business will think that they can achieve instant success. This rarely happens and only a few will be able to really succeed on their first try. However, you cannot bank on trying to get instant success as this is not what starting a business is all about. You will need to have a lot of patience and understand that you will most likely fail for your first few tries.

2. Don't Spam

A lot of people will spam on the internet to get more attention for their online home business. However, there is a big difference between spamming and trying to market your company. Don't just use your social networks for spamming as you want to build a relationship with your followers.

3. Lack Of Motivation

It is crucial that you always have motivation for your online business. If you are not able to see your business grow right away, then you can't lose motivation. Too many people enter their online home businesses with a full head of steam and then lose motivation after they fail.

4. Having No Business Plan

If you don't have a business plan, you will probably end up losing money due to the lack of knowledge on what you really need to do. You cannot attack an online business with a blindfold on as this will only make matters worse. You must focus on being able to have a business plan and then know where you are headed. Too many people will just try to start an online business without any sort of plan.

5. Getting Too Comfortable

The best thing about an online home business is that you will be able to make money while you are in the comfort of your very own home. However, this can be a problem since people tend to get very comfortable while they are at home. This will lead to less work and eventually your online business will not prosper.

The majority of people that have successful online businesses will work hours just to get any success and this can be quite draining for some people. The biggest problem that a lot of people have is that they tend to just commit these simple mistakes without even knowing that they are mistakes. If you are serious about seeing your online business grow, then you must avoid these mistakes at all costs.

Hi FreeLord,

My way of determining who to listen to is based on my own knowledge of the subject matter. I am not an expert in everything, but I am very knowledgeable in different areas. So much so that I have my own business and do very well in terms of ROI.

I am not a Guru, but in my business I know the differences between what works and what does not work. So when I hear a so called Guru or read what a so called Guru says works for them I apply my own knowledge to the subject matter. When I know for a fact, again based on my own knowledge, that the so called Guru is "100% Right" then I know who to listen to.

The real question is more about not having a personal Knowledge Base about the subject matter and attempting to find a so called Guru in that same subject matter for the purpose of learning. How do we know if the so called Guru is in fact "100% Right" about the subject matter if we do not know what is "100% Wrong?" The answer is in the knowledge base!

The knowledge base is more of Research and Development or RAD. RAD is usually a select group of people wherein each individual is a so called expert in specific subject matter. The culmination of the entire group creates an end product which is a diverse knowledge base.

This diverse knowledge base is what we find on the internet and in this very forum. People have blogs that cover different areas of the knowledge base and other people have blogs that focus on only one or two areas of the knowledge base. Even when you look at two blogs from two different people about the same subject matter there may be two completely different end products, opinions and so forth. Why? Is it all from the same Research and Development? The same Knowledge Base? Which of the two is a so called Guru? Who is "100% Right?" Who is 100% Wrong?"

Hard to say?

Not really hard to say at all. There is a knowledge base PIPS makes available and we call it the Training. Also, DotComOlogy and 30 Days.. etc.

Those resources provided by PIPS have been screened by the masses and are still screened to this date. Some of those end products are from a select group of highly successful Internet Marketers. Hint > see the testimonials.

I don't want to get into mistakes that people make with a home based business, but rather the opposite.

More important to my home based business is what is "Perfect"!

Why? Because when it is perfect I am going to repeat it over and over.. all the way to the bank. Perfect!

When I create a product or service that earns permanent income year after year I consider that .. perfect.

Too many times threads are started in business forums about the top 5 or top ten mistakes only as the stage to pre-sell a product or service. These people have ulterior motives and it is blatantly obvious... links in their signatures to ebooks or other products that will insure you avoid those same mistakes. All for a price.

There are times when people do not want to make mistakes, so they ask without any ulterior motives. Usually honest people with honest questions. Often these people are silently yelling.. "HELP ME". These same people will often share their knowledge unselfishly.

Guru? Where does the so called Guru play into this? In my own experience the very best so called Gurus will unselfishly point the individual in the right direction. When time constraints and resources allow - the so called Guru will take a person to the side and offer a little one-on-one help.

There are tons of different labels we can put on Gurus. We just have to remember that Gurus are real people just like us and the we all have something to share and hopefully make this business and the world a better place for all of us...

...And That to me is a Guru.

I think we should listen to facts not opinions. Every one has an advice or opinion to give but the wrong kind of advice is worse than no advice. You have to check the credentials of a person giving you the advice. Learn to separate facts from opinions. Many people, even in this forum, have mere opinions about online marketing, but are very thin on actual facts.

When I was starting this PIPS business, I was told by Stone Evans in one of his tutorials that forum marketing is about establishing yourself as an expert to drive people to your website. If you have no point to make, please save your signature because it will kill your good intentions. What I don't know is whether I have always saved my signature. You are the judges.
