Domain Redirection

I have a question about redirecting a domain to another domain.

I'll use a hypothetical situation...

Say you have your PIPS sales page, which looks obviously like an affiliate URL. You want to buy a domain name and redirect that domain to your PIPS sales page. I personally wouldn't want to do this, but this will help get my point across.

From what I understand, you use a script to redirect the domain, and that's all that shows up in the source code. Correct me if I'm wrong :)

Here's my question... Would the title, keywords, description and content of the "PIPS sales page" be seen by Google or any other search engine when looking at the new domain that you're redirecting from?

Hope this all makes sense. The reason for this question is because I want keywords to have an impact for the new domain, even though it really doesn't contain anything, per se.

Thanks,

Alan

Re: Domain Redirection

Hi Alan,

Domain redirection is great to hide your affiliate ld`s

But in terms of Google, the fact that have a title and a description is worthless since it does not provide any content.

For example some search engines penalize if your keywords doesn`t appear in your content, just imagine if you have a redirected link.

Bottom line: Use them for ads, newsletters or within your pages, instead of your homepage.

Tip: In your homepage is better that if someone click in your Plug-In Profit Site link or any other Affiliate Program it goes to a review that provide content and in that review you add your redirected link.

Cheers,

Re: Domain Redirection

Hey Ramiro,

Thanks for the input. You confirmed what I had originally thought. For the purpose that I was considering, it seems pointless now. I might as well link directly to the other URL.

Great tips, BTW. Redirects are good for those purposes. It's something I'll look into in the future for this purpose.

Thanks again,

Alan
