New prospects> Where?

I was reading an article online about the internet marketing business. One point that was brought out that eventually the english speaking first world will be come saturated at the rate people are coming into it and yet the overseas market is virgin territory and plenty of recruits available for the choosing. Not all people in these third and second world countries do not know english and in fact I found free newspaper ads for that market on google. You just need to know what part of that country english is more prevelant. English is getting to be more and more taken up by people in these countries as means of progress. So I made my pitch today in suburban India and see how it goes. You can find translator programs on line that even help you with email contact. It may be a problem if you rely totallyon on your autoresponder as it only caters to english speaking individuals. Maybe in the future this can be arranged in PIPs and I know some of you have your objections but that is what is call progress and I know a few languages myself. This just a thought of interest I wanted to share. So what do you think of that challenge?

I do not mean to always rain on your parade, Carline or to thwart your creative thought processes - but...

Think it through. I am proud to say we get a great many people that sign up from all over the world, and often they do not speak English very well. Some have great difficulty and I don't know how they even get through the application.*

The program is in English only. Even if someone has a translator on their site, and even if they take the trouble to translate the newlsetters, then there is the training in English - this would be a daunting task for someone. So while you might get them to sign up, will they stay?

It is my feeling that unless someone can understand English to some degree they will have more than the usual information overload to deal with - they will have to put up with not comprehending.

I know it must be difficult learning a 2nd language and I figure the brave people we have that may not be able to write/speak well in English, must comprehend/read with more skill.

Sometimes it is is hard to give them an answer when I can't understand the question - and the free onine translators almost make it worse. They translate words but the grammar and sentence structure are almost completely incomprehensible to me.

You really have to research a good translator program and there is some just for business comunication. I have family in foreign countries that never learned english and out of the blue started learning english on their own, My mother use to tell me when there is the will then there is the way. Language is not hard to learn when you open you mind to and really want to learn and have a need for it, Just like a person never knowing english and to exceed to a higher living standard will be determined to learn or even may have someone that can help with the translation. I have personally seen that. If you are determined to learn something and focus on that it will happen. English is becoming the language of comerce and many people know that. I am not saying that there is no non english speaking persons in PIPs but the article I was reading made a good point in my opinion.

I totally agree as I just proofread a website that was translated into English. The grammar and structure was terrible. The bigger problem is that when I was done the original meaning wasn't always there. Not knowing the subject matter made it very difficult.

If there's a free translator that does a tremendous and accurate job, I'd love to know about it.

Hi Alan - The one I use is BabelFish by Alta Vista - not very good and I have stopped using it except just for one word at a time.
Yahoo! Babel Fish - Text Translation and Web Page Translation

LOL - when people write to me in another language I just say 'Sorry English only' and hope they understand what that means.

I hope that the issue here has not been lost. The issue is not whether or not people should learn a second language.

The issue is this program is in English only - As much as I would love to say 'anybody can do it' I really don't feel that it is going to work for anyone who doesn't COMPREHEND English or have a professsional (not free) translation program that they could apply to everything - the site, the sales page, the training and the newsletters.

I feel that there are enough issues with learning internet marketing, computers, copy writing, search engines, yadayadayada -

I agree, Pat. There is already a lot on the plate, so to speak. Learning another language would take up way too much time. A real shame, though. If only we could get past this language barrier...

Bable fish is absolutely garbage, I found a really good one and works well. When non english speaking students immigrate to a country where only English is spoken and go to school where they only get english courses they eventually with a great deal of effort learn both by means of special learning tools for that particular need. I know this because I was involved directly helping a family menber with this. They do eventually learn but at a turtle crawl speed and is difficult but it can be done and is done on a regular basis in Canada. If you are not interested in getting involved with this type of thing then that is your choice. I believe and is nmy opinion it can be done and have proof of it. Even if you have to up grade to a paid translater, it is worth it and not expensive and I have looked into that as well or you can go the a major book store such as *Chapters*and they are online too. They sell Cd's you just pop into your computer. Like I said if you are not interested in this you will not see the point of it or bother with it. Just think If the English speaking prospects are no longer easy pickens then what! It is a point well made in the article I read. When you find a urgent need for something your brain will go into survival mode and you will find a wqay around your obsticle of what ever it is. The thirty days and affilliate marketing is like being in a foreign country learning a new language but with determination and patience it can be over come in any language. Think for a moment if they did not understand your offer even from the first word why are they contacting your on the offer you are putting out there. This based on what I have seen and experienced for many years and you can take or disregard it.

Yea - I tried using on line translators to no avail - the people at the other end got cross with me. I suppose I translated into some obscure term they did not like.

English is not my first language either but I am now trying to stick to English for marketing purposes.

Have fun.

For now it's really vital to understand English :-) PIPS is a system that works in English, promotes offers and products in English... unless somebody's going to produce something similar for e.g. German products and call it "Online Geld Seiten" or something like that.

For basic translations, you can use: Google Translate (it's good for simple sentences)
