Hi everyone, I just want to say something to all of you here who are thinking about not promoting your home page that has about 5-15 different oportunities and focusing on promoting on PPC or other promotion methods a page like SFI or any other of the opportunties that you are in. To make a long story short, I did promote a program on other high traffic websites and was stupid enough not to promote my home page. The reason is because when a visitor comes to my site, he or she will check out 2-4 different opportunities that are on that home page website. When you only promote one page like SFI's page, you will not do as well as when you promote your home page and give your visitors a few opportunties to choose from. When you promote your page and someone comes in, if they sign up with SFI you also have a chance that they will also sign up with other opportunities that are on your website. Do you understand where I am getting to? Tal |

Good point Tal. I have always promoted my home page unless I am promoting a landing page or another page of my own. I never promote the affiliate page directly. I like to get as many responses as possible from as many visitors as possible. I also like to open the links on my page into a separate page so when the exit it they come back to the page of mine they were on. A positive response to me is joining my mailing list, buying something, clicking on a ppc ad, filling out a lead form, emailing me, subscribing to my blog feed, etc. If I had to choose my favorite it would be to get them to subscribe to my mailing list so I can follow up and develop relationships which leads to more sales. |

Great tips Tal and Jeff. I really never thought of it that way before. It makes sense since most people like choices, rather than just one option only. Kind of human nature. I've never done PPC advertising my home page. That's something I'll have to look into. I think I'll start with some traffic exchanges and see what kind of results I get. Does that sound like a good idea? Thanks again. Your experiences are well appreciated ![]() |

I agree that giving more choices to the visitors is good but just wondering if that will make them confuse ? When they landed on our website, there are tons of different opportunities available and sometimes this may make them undecided or unsure which one they should join or focus on. I think particularly true for newbie who are looking for internet income opportunities.... what do you think ? Jinmin |

![]() As Jeff said, any action they take is a winner. Even if they don't sign up for an opportunity, getting a CPC, PPL or Adsense click is better than nothing at all. I agree that I would rather them sign up for my newsletter. We can't win them all. We just have to do our best at it.

This is all interesting from everyone. I just did my first PPC on google. Low budget $10.00 a day and .05 per click google says I should get some keywords on first page. Will see. The only advertising I have done is traffic exchanges, social sites and some articles on go articles. Mostly what I am getting is hits on my blog. Mainly because I haven't figured out how to add to my PIPs home page Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for all the info. Jim |

I personally would prefer to promote my site. I thought to promote one single affiliate program before but that will cause me more time to promote the others as well. It will be waste of time and money if you promote a single affiliate link and do not promote your site since you owned it. In case the visitors are confused, I will try to arrange my website in good manner and good explanation to tell all those visitors the function and how to work with the program I joined. I will think from the point of view of my visitors when explaining. What was I confused about the programs before I know its function. I had done PPC to my main page for 2 months and I feel it is not useful to me. Maybe my budget is too little but I cannot raise my budget anymore. So I had pause my PPC ads. I am testing a automated blog now and it seems very good. I just set up for 2 days. My visitors boosted from 90++ average to 200++ a day. I am testing whether it is really effective to get long term traffics. My blog posts was from about 50 posts to 90 posts in 3 days.

Basically what you need to do is perform some SEO on your home page. Do some research on keywords that you'd like to target and get traffic for. You can then use those keywords for your PPC campaigns. If this sounds totally confusing, I suggest you get yourself a copy of Suzanne Morrison's SEO ebook which will explain everything you need to know.

Just be careful doing having ppc programs on any pages you promote in traffic exchanges. Google Adsense will ban you if promote a page in a traffic exchange with their ads on it.

Were you able to track what that .02% did once they got to your site? That would be interesting to know.

I'm going to delete the Adsense code on my home page and do some testing with traffic exchanges. I feel that if I can get enough targeted traffic consistently, I can get them to take action. My CPA ads had been doing good until just recently for some reason.

I do the same thing as well for that same exact reason. You want them to stay on your site as long as possible, and that's an easy way to accomplish that.
