Will I get a free Maserati ... or ...

Hey, PIPS Partners:

Don't tell my PPG mentors, but I got sidetracked today and just HAD to take time to write the web biz blog post noted below.

I started out writing on a different topic, based on Task #5 in the Weekly Challenge given to PPG members.

Then I checked my Twitter tweets and got inspired to write a somewhat left-field, tongue-in-cheek blog post instead.

Well. The intro and the outro are tongue-in-cheek. The main subject of the post is for real and it is accurate and honest.

Will this post get me a free Maserati car, or will it just get me into trouble? (That's T for Trouble - my middle name).

I guess my point in mentioning it here is, everybody looks for ideas for their blogs, articles, website content. We can find inspiration anywhere and everywhere.

Sometimes, to get inspiration, the best thing is to be connected to your network. If nothing else is inspiring you, visit your Social Network sites and forums and see if something there will get the creative juices flowing.

In my case, I seldom have a problem finding a topic. But my problem is that some things trigger certain ideas, then I get sidetracked from my planned purpose! lol Like today!

I tried to be honest and respectful towards Maserati, while at the same time poking fun at the concept of writing favourable articles in the hopes of earning a payback.

Obviously, I don't truly expect a free car ... or any kind of a response from the company.

I just hope I don't offend them with the post.

Hey, PIPS/Warriors:

This Maserati, Excellence Through Passion web biz blog post was also another keyword phrase test.

I wanted to see what would happen in the SERPs (search engine results pages) when I made that blog post.

So, this morning, about 18 hours after posting it, here is what I found:

- The word, "maserati" (with no quotes) brought 33,400,000 Google returns and my blog was nowhere to be seen in the first 5 pages. (I didn't look any further).

- However, the words "maserati excellence" (with no quotes) brought 168,000 returns and a post I made to my Warrior blog was in the SECOND spot on the first page; and my own Web Bizz Blog post was in the FIFTH spot on the first page.

What does this have to do with Internet Marketing? Well, three things, really.

First, I was trying to "think outside the box" by blogging about a seemingly unrelated topic ... HOWEVER ... I tied in a few SOCIAL NETWORKING angles (Twitter, my web biz blog, Warrior Forum...)

Second, I'm just testing SERP responses to a specific post topic.

Third, I was just having a bit of fun! Nothing wrong with that. When we loosen up in our marketing, then bits of our personality can show through ... and I think that sometimes, that can help improve our business efforts.

MASERATI UPDATE:

Still no word from Maserati on when I can expect delivery of a complementary Maserati GranTurismo S ... lol

If they give me a free car ( lol ) they should probably fly me to Italy to get some training and background, so once there, I will borrow a car and swing around to your region of the world. On the map, it doesn't look too far away.
