Hi all! I was wondering if anyone could give me some suggestions for generating more traffic to my Plugin Profit site and/or my Online Income Profits site, the site that Stone and Patricia built for me. It'd be nice to get some newsletter subscribers too. Please only give me free methods. I have put a little money into the paid methods, but I can't afford to put any more than I already have. I have noticed that my links have been displayed on Traffic Swarm, which is good, but as far as I can tell so far PushButtonLeads has not been fruitful. I am also a member of Traffic Digger, but I need more referrals before my ad is placed on very many sites. Any advice and suggestions you can give me would be GREATLY appreciated! |

I advise you to complete the training Zhuuraan - Don't lose your focus. You do not have to buy anything you can't afford, but it is important that you complete the training so you will understand some of the internet marketing techniques. - but mostly so you will get to the part where the free, really effective long term strategies, such as search engine optimization, (to your site and all ad copy) blogging and article marketing are explained. Take consistent, aggressive action with these free strategies whether or not you also use other paid techniques. If you do that over time you will see results. Set a budget and stick to it - even if it is $0 (other than your monthly hosting fee) you can still do this with lots of concerted effort over time. All the best. |

Thanks. I have been reading the pages. I did notice however that everything past day 17 or 18 or so, save the days off, are still missing. They say that the update is in progress. For that reason, I can't continue reading. Now, I realize that it was meant to be read in 30 days, but I have no job and LOTS of time on my hands with which to do stuff, so I've been reading more than one page per day. That is also part of why I want some free suggestions, and I appreciate those that I've gotten so far. I don't care how much time I have to invest, I just can't put in money. Seriously though even if I had to put in a full work day worth of time, I don't care. Lol I'll do whatever I need to in order to get going with this thing. Once it starts bringing me in some profits, I can then move on to other stuff. I started a blog, btw, about making money online. I've made 3 posts so far, all related to SFI, PIPS, Traffic generating, etc. The blog itself is about money making online, no matter if it's a home business or just a GPT. Check it out at: Amanda's Online Money Makers I'm going to change the side links to Banners later on I think. I am also going to run the blog on my personal website as soon as I get the FTP software going since it points to my business site. I think I will write an article or two about PIPS and related programs on Associated Content and maybe Helium. Oh, right, I don't think I can put links in Helium. Oh well, I can do AC for sure. I also have banners on my myLot profile. Let's see, what else I can do. Well, if I can start bringing in enough money to prove to my friends that it works, I know lots of people who'd do it. They'd just need some sort of guarantee from me that it works, which I can't give them til I get paid. Most of my friends, like me, don't have jobs and have LOTS of time on their hands, but little money. If I can show them that this works, they'll be running to join! Lol okay, now I am rambling. Anyway, I look forward to seeing what other ppl say. Thanks Carline for the linkreferral site. I am going to join that now! |

Use the Google Adwords Keyword tool (you don't need an Adwords account to use it) find some keywords which are getting traffic, ignore the obvious keywords which you know are likely to have a lot of competition. Go to Google and type in each keyword in quotes (i.e. exact match search) if a keyword has less than 10,000 results. Obviously the less results the easier it will likely be to rank well for. Then go to Squidoo and build a lens for each keyword. Then go to Hubpages and build a page for each keyword, then write an article for each keyword and submit them to Ezine articles. Make sure every piece of content you put up links back to your PIPS site. It's a lot of work but it works really well and it is entirely free. All the best, Mike. |

Thankfully, the internet has provided a world wide platform that each of us can use to financially succeed in our home business, and do it for free in most cases. You do not have to spend big bucks any more. I hear you loud and clear about the money. I have spent and wasted so much money trying to help myself, but this site set me straight. It has truly helped me and you are welcome to visit it. Go to Building On A Budget. Best Regards, Susan

Thanks so much for the AWESOME suggestions! I will definitely check out those videos and the Google search thing. I have never used hubpages, ezinearticles, or squiddoo, but I will most definitely have to do that! You guys have really got me psyched! I think it's great that this forum is so active! Woohoo! I hope it's helped the couple of newbies that are here too! |

I just took Kooza's suggestion with the google searching idea and I can't believe some of the phrases I found that had few results. I even found one that only had a single result! LMAO Now I need to get to work writing blog entries, associated content articles, ezinarticles hubpages and squiddoo stuff all to do with this stuff. WOOO!

Once you have your keywords picked it's essential that you optimize your site properly for those keywords. Then, what Mike (Kooza) mentioned will have a huge impact on getting traffic. Hope that helps, Alan

I never had much success with Associated Content. Every time I would try to submit an article they said it was too promotional and denied it. Well, I know for a fact they aren't and never had trouble anywhere else. Anyone else have that issue? |

If an AC article doesn't get accepted for upfront payment, I always resubmit it for performance only, but ALWAYS non-exclusive. That way, I can republish it anywhere I want, but it still gets exposure. My problem is I am not very good at writing articles on demand, including my own demand, lol. So, although I know what I need to do, it might take a while to get good articles written. It'll be especially hard on sites that don't allow you to republish your stuff. Then again, it might be good to steer clear of those so that if I want to republish the same article multiple places to get it more exposure, i can do that. |

Hey Alan can you elaborate on this comment, I am not sure what you mean? If I do a search in Google for "fly fishing" (exact match with quotes) then surely any pages which show up in the results are in competition with me if I am trying to rank for that same keyword? Another, perhaps better way to find competition is to use both intitle and inanchor in the same search (perhaps that is what you were implying?) 'inanchor:"fly fishing" intitle:"fly fishing"' This will return only sites which have the exact phrase "fly fishing" in the title tag of the page and have at least one back link pointing to the site with that exact phrase also. Quite useful because we know they are the two most important factors when it comes to ranking a web page.
However I would definitely not spend a lot of time trying to rank for a keyword which has low search volume. For low search volume keywords it's more hit and miss but generally you don't need to put in a lot of effort at all to rank for them. All the best, Mike.

I meant in the Google keyword suggestion tool. I just wanted to make sure they understood what to look for when looking at the results when looking at different phrases. It had nothing to do with doing a search on Google. Yes, you're correct. The 1,000 rule I just mentioned because it's harder for beginners to rank high for higher searched terms. Although, your suggestions are good and I agree. Take Care, Alan

Arghhh, I hate writer's block! I have my list of keywords to use for writing my articles, but I can't think of even how to start! Oh well, I will figure it out, and when I do, AC, HubPages, and Squiddoo will be my friend. Ezinearticles guidelines are far too strict for my liking. I'm not a professional writer or anything and it'd be so easy to accidentally make a mistake.
