I just received an email from a marketer who's list I'm on reminding people that they need to have their disclaimer in place on their sites about cookies and affiliate programs. For example, I have this one on one of my blogs: Affliliate Disclaimer for Beginner’s Nail Art | Beginners Nail Art And it's actually a template because I have the same thing on my other blogs as well; I just go in and change the site name and my email address. I was looking on my new PIP blog and I'm not seeing a disclaimer. Is it okay if I put my own on there? And if so, do I leave everything the same or is there anything that needs to be changed to be in compliance? Thanks! |

One policy does not apply to all websites, so the user must research and apply the appropriate policy (policies). It depends on the affiliate program's requirements. For example Google and Amazon have specific terms that are mandatory to be published in the disclaimers. So it is necessary to publish those terms. There are also states that make mandatory specific terms, so we need to adhere to those terms as well.
