Question on Get Response Newsletters
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

I was clicking on and reading the articles in Stone's newsletters to see what my subscribers were getting. My question is at the bottom is supposed to be my links to my website. It does not show my link but like code to add your link. My question is do you have to go through each newsletter and add your link or does it automatically show to the subscribers and I am just not seeing it.

You should never touch those codes - these are 'predefined variables' - Your account has been configured to populate the variable with your PIPS domain name and all the affiliate programs are linked through you PIPS ID when applicable to the letter.

What you apparently are looking at is on the autoresponder in the 'manage follow-up messages' in the control panel - which shows the codes, etc. You can edit them to personalize them, etc., but no need to touch the encoding.

If you subscribe to the newsletter yourself you will see the codes do not show and instead it will show the URL.

You do not need to do anything to the autoresponder - it has all been configured when it was set up - however, if you upgrade the account do check to be sure that all the messages are enabled - sometimes it doesn't happen automatically.

If you contact the helpdesk with your username and password for Getresponse,, I will be glad to check that everything is okay after you upgrade.

Second question. If I manually add a lead to my autoresponder what article should I send to them to get their interest?

The system will automatically send the confirmation email (for your protection) and then start the series if the person confirms.

If you have upgraded then you also have the broadcast function which might be used once they are in the system - This would be above and beyond the regular series.

The series goes out every day for 30 days and then every other day - you can easily add personal messages on the off days without messing up the sequence.

Maybe you have more confidence than I do, or maybe I am just lazy, but I would rather trust Stone and his professional newsletters and in just the sequence he believes is best.

... up to you.

Hi,

The broadcast system for GR once you have upgraded is a fantastic tool that I recommend completely. You can send whatever announcements or promotions that you want just dont over do it...

Take care

I guess I didn't get my point across right. Ok I get a double opt in lead from Triple Your List I get their name and email address. I want to put them in my autoresponder. I put that in then it gives me the choice of all the newsletters. I have been starting on the Dotcomology because I didn't think I should start on the thanks for joining when they haven't joined yet. If that is where I should start I will do that because I do trust Stone but was confused what to do because they hadn't signed up from a capture pg etc..

The newsletter thanks them for subscribing to the newsletter - I am not aware that it ever says thanks for joining PIPS -

Actually pluginbonus.html has Dotcomology as well as it is mentioned in the first few newsletters.

I don't get what you mean 'gives you the choice' - it is a series in sequential order - they go out for 30 days and then every other day for the a total of 400 days.

I guess you have changed the sequence - I don't know how or why you would do this manually...

Since the leads are supposedly triple opt-in it is wierd to ask them to confirm again - and I am not sure if you can opt to not send the confirmation - seems like sometimes you can and sometimes you can't.

It's a drop down box and no I have not changed the sequence. I think I understand better how it works now. So sorry about being stupid about all this but If I don't know and ask how will I ever learn? I am trying to learn all of this but some of it is hard for me to understand and yes I do read alot here in the forum.

Well, I don't know about you Robbi but sometimes when something is too simple as in already set up for you and/or 'automatic' I have a problem accepting that there is not more to it. It's like I don't have enough problems, I have to imagine or create more!

It is really good that you are trying to understand how everything works, though and I would always encourage that and asking questions, so learn on!

You don't really want to add people manually to your newsletter.

You will want to add a code to your website and have people automatically subscribe to your newsletter.

Make sure to add your opt in form at the top of your site.
