Hi MBeshr, I can't remember the exact time period, as I got my Plug-In Profit site almost 5 years ago - back in 2004. At the time I didn't even know what SEO was and it took me over 6 months or so to even think about SEO. After learning about it and optimizing my site (for a phrase that wasn't overly competitive) it took a few months to see results. I now usually get over 1000 visits a day from search engines, but I have had my site for a few years now. I think the anwer to your question will depend on two things: 1) how competitive the phrase that people choose is e.g. if you go for something very competitive such as "work from home" or "home business" or "make money online" it could take you years to get to the first page. But if you pick something less competitive you could get there in a few months rather than years! 2) How much time you can dedicate to getting backlinks. The number and quality of backlinks are the main thing that Google and other search engines use to determine which sites rank first, so the more time you spend on this, the quicker your ranking should increase. A lot of people email me within a few weeks of ordering my PIPS SEO Service and tell me that they have seen their ranking jump up a few hundred positions as a result. I also hear from people who have achieved a page one ranking after spending some time building backlinks. On the other hand, there are people who never get there because they don't build enough backlinks. Cheers, Suzanne |

Hi MBeshr, I couldn't have put it any better than Suzanne. Keep in mind though that everyone has a different learning curve and different amounts of time they can put into their websites. There is somewhat of a science behind the answer though... I can tell you that your main keywords "earn money at home" get an average of about 400 searches per day by using Googles free adwords tool. A good percentage of those search results will go to the first page of results. And a good percentage of that percentage will go to the #1 - # 3 rankers. I also know that there are about 230,000 competing websites for those keywords just by doing a search in google using quotations. "earn money at home" This will show you your competition. Going down the list Im looking for the first result that will land me on that persons /index page rather than an inlink page...I see it is none other than our good friend and mentor Jeff Casmer sitting on the #2 spot. I can also tell he is working with that same exact keyword phrase because it is in his title as well. Then I use Yahoos site explorer just to get an idea of how many back links he has...which is over 17,000 and your website shows just over 500. So just based on what I derived from 5 minutes of research, you are going to have to make up over 16,500 back links to reach the spot where Jeff is. And thats not counting the back links he would be picking up at the same time you are picking up back links. homenetpro.com, just down from Jeff has almost 16,000 links but doesnt seem to be targeting 'earn money at home' specifically. So just a rough estimation, you are going to need 12,000 - 13,000 back links and a good number of those targeting "earn money at home" just to get to page one. If you wanted to be on page one for those keywords it would take you two years averaging 16 back links a day. You my want to go another route. Best, Matt |

Hi mbeshr- I just wanted to add something here... I should have also stated that there are several other factors to take into consideration here. The fact that many of those pages listed on page one are pages within their website and not their main page. You have to also look at what websites are targeting for the same exact "main" keywords "earn money at home" and after a bit more research it doesn't like many of them are. So looking at it again, and I see you are already on page 4, with a little more work you could easily slide onto page one. Getting in the top 3 may take you awhile but as long as you keep targeting those keywords over and over again, you should have a good shot. Heres what you can do that will really help your chances... Your signature here in this forum is just a link, you should hyper link it using your main keywords. Also do the same in your authors resource box whenever you write and submit an article. Your on page SEO is great and as long as you do your part in off page SEO with your anchor links, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to rank on page 1. So after doing a bit more research I would say go for it! Just realize that Googles rankings work on a real exaggerated delay, so monitor where your website is on a weekly basis and just make sure that your efforts are making your website move up. matt |

2)You need to target your main keywords "earn money at home". So when you write an article and submit it to EzineArticles or whereever, you should use the < a href="http:// www.mwyam oneymaker.com/ > Earn Money At Home < / a > Without the spaces. The more times and places you do this, the higher and faster you will rank. 3)Go to edit signature and use this code without the spaces... [ url="http: // www. mwyamoneymaker. com / " ] Earn Money At Home [ /url ] That is the code you use on this forum to hyper link those keywords. Matt | |

Hi MBeshr, You are on page 4 of Google for your main keywords, so in my opinion you should concentrate on building more backlinks rather than changing your keywords. One thing that will help you: You currently have an article on your site (from my SEO blog) and this has nothing to do with your keywords. It is also duplicate content. You should write a unique article based around the topic of earning money at home and include your keywords "earn money at home" within this article 2-3 times. Replace the SEO article with your new article and never publish this article anywhere - keep it as unique content for your home page. Read this - Plug-in Profit Site Blog: Making your Plug-In Profit Site Unique Very good advice by Matt as well. Cheers, Suzanne P.S - I never give permission for people to republish full articles from my SEO site, apart from the ones on the affiliate page, as I need this to be unique content, so I would appreciate you removing the SEO article anyway, regardless. |

Just go to Google.com, type in "earn money at home", go to page #4 and look at the #38 spot. Thats your website...good job! PageRank is just the rank that Google gives your website out of a possible 10 ranking. We are just saying your website is on page 4 for the keyword terms earn money at home. It ranks #38 out of 259,000 |

I just got done doing a bunch of optimizing yesterday, so the spiders haven't had time to crawl the site yet, but I saw a PIPS site on the 4th or 5th page of my keyword that was unmodified so I'd venture a guess that mine, being modified and somewhat optimized, will rank above that particular PIPS page. I was just about to go find that yahoo tool t hat told you how many backlinks a site has and see how many it has. Then I'll have an idea how many I have by comparison and know a little more certainly if I'll be above it. Being on page 5 or 6 right off the bat isn't bad, and I'll know what to aim for! |

K I just checked the top two sites on the first page and that other PIPS page. The top page had over 42000 backlinks, the second around 12000 and the PIPS one around 1000, though I'm not sure if it was optimized or not. Mine doesn't have a ton of backlinks yet, but of course I'm still in the process of working on that. Still it is being optimized so I think I should get a decent rank. It'll be nice when I start driving more traffic to my site and increasing my rank, which will in turn drive more traffic, lol. |

I too cannot remember when my site got high ranking in search engine. But now my site Simple Work From Home Opportunity | Make Money Online. under its main key word 'simple work from home opportunity is ranked high beig withing first 3 pages in main six search engine namely AOL, Google/Hotbot, Lycross Pro, MSN, Netscape, Yahoo. as per MarketLeap keyword verification, almost all of these search engines have my site in page 1. Now how can I get similar ranking for other more popular key words. I have my gratitude to Suzanne Morrison for the SEO optimising work she did on my site after I started my PIP site. |

It's all about getting dofollow keyword anchored backlinks to your website. You can rank highly for any keyword if you get enough of them. The best are from authority sites in your niche but they don't necessarily have to be.
