Wow I didn't even know about that rule and now im kinda nervous. I've just started using clickbank with adwords. Ive only been doing it for about a week but still haven't received a sale. When I do though I thought I would be paid for it. I Hope that it doesnt end up taking me too long to get 5 different cards |

I guess these posts would answer my question of when I would get paid by Click Bank. I had an adwords campaign going for a couple of weeks and had plenty of traffic but no sales so I paused the account until I got further along in my PPC Classroom classes. Two weeks later, I see that I made a sale on March 10 with a $36 commission. The buyer was from So Africa and I suppose that it took a while to confirm payment. Now I know that I wont be seeing that money for a while. It was my first sale on line and I think that my excitement is a bit premature. Hopefully I will have 4 more sales before I start getting charged for letting Click Bank hold My Money. Rowena Stein |

The problem with direct linking is that Google Adwords has what's called a "one URL policy", meaning, if two or more affiliates are promoting the same product and they are direct linking too, then only one will be displayed...the one with the highest rank based on the combination of Quality Score and Bid Amount. Having said that, direct linking is still a good way to test if the merchant site will convert...before you spend time building a unique landing page.

You are going in the right direction. PPC Classroom is a good program to learn about Google Adwords/Pay-per-Click. I went through their 9 modules and Amit Mehta did a great job explaining what it takes to launch a successful campaign. However, I did not sign-up for the monthly membership 'coz it's very expensive...is it $97/month? When you have a few campaigns up and running, the other 4 sales and more are not far behind. Good luck!

Conquer your fear and you'll be alright IMO, Adwords is the fastest way to get over that 5 sales restriction from Clickbank. You'll get those 5 sales in no time. Good luck.

I agree. If it wasn't for Adwords I probably wouldn't have gotten past the restriction.

Hi Everyone - It is hard to get started with Click Bank because of their rules. I have heard others experiencing the missing check routine many times. The probability of that many checks innocently gone missing does raise a concern. This was also brought up on the old Warrior Forum. Also the deduction for inactive accounts is disturbing. The way not to lose that money would be to cancel your CB account. That's the way out they offer around the 5 card rule. That doesn't stop your check from being "lost"if you do. Another way might be to purchase through your own hop link. This may be possible but they warn that you are not to use your account just for your own personal discount link. If you haven't met the 5 card requirement, as long as you have sales that are from other people, buying an item to keep your account active may be allowed. Here's what I found on buying from your own link. https://www.clickbank.com/affiliate_faq.html And see number 25 - Can I purchase products through my own hoplink? Here's the direct link. It says aff_question_24 but really goes to question 25 https://www.clickbank.com/affiliate_...ff_question_24 25. Can I purchase products through my own hoplink? The short answer is yes, but ClickBank does not condone affiliates using their accounts for this sole purpose. As stated in our Accounting Policy, "ClickBank accounts cannot be used for the sole purpose of collecting rebates or otherwise extending credit to yourself or others." That is, affiliates should not be using their own hoplinks to purchase products for themselves and then collect a "rebate" check from ClickBank. They say "the SOLE purpose of collecting rebates or otherwise extending credit to yourself ". If they didn't want you to do it they should say your not allowed at all. They still get the same profit from the sale. They are in control so there isn't much you can do if they decide to penalize you. CJ - Commission Junction - closed my account a while back. I was sending them traffic but no one was buying. One day I tried to log into my CJ account and I couldn't. They didn't tell me they did it by emailing me. They Let me find out refusing my log in. Then I had to inquire why. I had to sign up again with a different email and get my site approved again. I used the same site both times. They wouldn't reactivate my original account. I still wonder if any one purchased from any of my links during the time my account was shut down and I didn't know it. Some of these vendor/affiliate type networks actually say they buy the product and sell it to the customer. Your not actually buying from the vendor. So who benefits when a check is lost or a commission revoked or an affiliate account closed without telling that affiliate. Not the affiliate for sure but some one profits. PayDotCom doesn't pay you they have the vendor pay you. Each month they send out a notice to remind the vendors to pay their affiliates. This isn't foolproof but PayDotCom isn't conditionally withholding your earnings. That's why I always try to read the policies regarding payment before I even waste my time to sign up. Most places don't have an obvious link but I usually find the info by accessing a link at the very bottom of the home page. On ClickBank the link is at the very bottom - FAQ Library. Other places it might be behind a link titled Terms, Policy or Site Map. We've all heard the saying The Buyer Beware but the same should be said of the affiliate. As mentioned earlier in this thread there are product owners that have there own affiliate programs where they pay you. Many product owners still use the Seven $ Script or RAP (Rapid Action Profits) were you get paid 100% every other sale. These are popular because of the quick payment to the affiliate. |

It's an annoyance. Although it's not in big red letters on the frone page, it's there on their site. Clickbank has many products there across numerous niches, and it is taking me longer to get rolling with their program than I would like but I think clickbank will pay off well in the long run. |

I'm not sure if cloaking/masking still works with the implementation of a stricter Adwords Quality Score. I don't use cloaking so I may be wrong.

Leon, I suffered the same fate about the holding of funds so I actually never bothered about my money in the account as it isn't much. But lately there were a few more sales and I asked to be paid. They have confirmed a check will be issued on Apr 1 and I checked my account and it shows exactly that. So I'll be following up closely to the arrival of my check. I've also checked my address to be correct. Just don't understand why they can't credit into paypal account. It's much easier. Peter Lee |

Someone is obviously looking out for me. I also have an anonymous good Samaritan that I would love to thank but have no return address. Today, I received an envelope in the mail. The address was hand-written out to me. The return address only had the town and state that it was sent from. Inside... my lost Clickbank check that I ranted on about earlier in this thread. All I can think of is that my check got sent to someone else, and that person then mailed it me, two months later! I thought I would never see that money, and now here it is staring me in the face. I honestly can't believe it. The funny thing is that in one more month the check will be voided. If I had the person's full address I would be inclined to send them a letter and even some money for their kindness and honesty. This is a true blessing for me and a great reminder that there are still honest people in this world. Whoever you are... Thank You! |

I still can't believe I got that check. It feels like a dream. I'm just glad an honest person got a hold of it and decided to mail it to the address on the check. They could have easily forged my signature or just thrown it away. I wonder what Clickbank would say when they find out they sent my check to the wrong address. |

Hello pips, It is an intresting issue raised because it deals with earning and disapearing of commisions. I have been online for almost two years now but have never made a dime not untill last month i received a mail from click bank of making $5 but before any other thing the commision disappeared till today. I am just realising where the money went to. What a funny business. Anyway, i will never give up untill i see the end. |

As I recall a purchases made through payPal will not count for more that 1 of the five. If you have the payPal debit card I think they offer the virtual card option which will work. Clickbank requires purchases by different people, you need to know how to game the AVS system. |

I'm just waiting for my first cheque from Clickbank. I agree their dormancy rule is not very fair and I do wish they paid through Paypal especially as I'm in the Uk and so more chance of my cheque going astray. But I don't have a problem with their other condition about credit cards. But you don't have to make that many sales to satisfy their conditions. When you consider most offline businesses cost a lot to startup, losing a few dollars to Clickbank as you build your business shouldn't be a major concern. An offline business might not make any money for the first year. If you aren't making enough sales, the fundamental problem is addressing why sales are so few. If you can't sell one product per week even, it's not Clickbank's fault. |

Spot on. If you can't make five sales in three months, you are doing something (everything?) wrong.

Since this is a forum where help is offered and accepted, I will certainly await your suggestions and tips (rather than criticisms) for Newbie's. Clickbank products are on the websites provided by Stone from day 1. Traffic is NOT. Please share with us your tactics to help newbies get 5 sales in 3 months. Thanks Leon |

Leon, I wasn't criticising, I was pointing out that Clickbank isn't causing you to not get 5 sales in 3 months, so focus on what the real problem is. I was going through the new posts - I didn't notice I was in the plug in profit section which I know nothing about. I'm a newbie myself in terms of only just starting to make a little money. Personally, I would avoid any kind of business in a box because you are relying on someone else's research to some extent. But you still need to do keyword research for each niche. If Mr. Stone doesn't teach traffic then it's not really a business in my view. If your keywords (high enough search count, low enough competition) aren't suitable none of the traffic generating techniques will work well. Obviously it can take months to start making sales because you need to build backlinks which takes time but once you have enough traffic, I would expect to sell to a percentage of everyone who comes to the site. If people aren't buying it must be the product or the site copy. If you haven't got enough traffic, work on that. If your site isn't converting, work on the copy or change the affiliate product. From my study - methods of getting traffic: article marketing creating web2.0 properties for backlinks to your site press releases joining a blog network like Article Marketing Automation, Neurolinker, Article Underground etc. social bookmarking posting RSS feeds to RSS aggregator sites posting to forums with signature commenting on blogs directory submissions creating videos and submitting to video sites for backlinks submitting to podcast directories submitting to software directories paid traffic (ppc, banners etc). There's also traffic exchanges and safe list but personally I'm dubious about those. I've been following AffiloBlueprint which I highly recommend - in that course Mark Ling built a site in one niche from scratch and it was making over $500 per week by end of 12 weeks. He expects the average affiliate site to be making at least $50 per week by the end of 12 weeks. But you may pick a dud niche or affiliate product or your keyword research may not have been good enough and then if it doesn't work out you may just have to redo your keyword research or scrap that site and move on. No point flogging something that's not working. |

It's all about the traffic. That's what it really comes to. I guess I should specify that it should be highly qualified traffic. You could have the worse sales copy in the world, but with the right traffic, sales will come.
Traffic is taught, and that's what most of us work to gain more of everyday. All of your suggestions on building backlinks and getting traffic are right on. I'm sure some people here will appreciate your input, as do I.

Thanks kundrolpawo, I wasn't so much responding to your comments as I was the other one. I should have specified, sorry. I still welcome Robin's secret to 5 sales in 3 months for newbies. I can accept the 5 sales policy, but as far as I am concerned, the "dormant fees" is blatant theft. Like Alan, I agree with your suggestions. Most everything is taught in Stone's program and if not, it is taught by my great mentors in the PPG. I am working very hard (12-14 hrs per day) to implement these things. I am just a little slow in understanding sometimes, but eventually I get it. When I started this thread, I just wanted other newbies to be aware and not to be disappointed if they get lucky and make a ClickBank sale their first month like I did. How many people really read the Terms and Conditions thoroughly before signing up for any program? It would take you a month to get through and understand ClickBank's. I learned the hard way when the check did not come, I investigated and found this policy. Shame on me. In this thread, someone put me onto Harvey Segal (a ClickBank expert) and his solution to this exact policy (showing me ClickBank IS the problem), which I have implement and went one step further offering a rebate for the full $3. Thanks to a fellow PPGer, Charles, I got the MC I needed for the mix. Now I just need 2 more sales that are not PayPal. Thanks for your response kundrolpawo. You list a lot of excellent points. God Bless, Leon |

However I really don't think anyone is that hard-up to resist the $3 offer in my book. Harvey .

Once again I screwed up for not reading all the terms and conditions. I am very sorry Harvey. I will pull the offer immediately. Thank goodness Charles refused to take my rebate. Leon

Yes its a bit rough, very difficult to do all that, just to get paid and then watch a big chunk of it go back to them!
