Are Banner Ads A Good Idea?

I have seen offers of 500,000 banner ads for $24.00 Has anyone tried banner ads? Do they bring any sales?

They are selling banner impressions and you can go through half a million very quickly with no clicks at all. This is especially true if the banner is not unique in anyway. If you are planning on advertising banners that everyone else with any given program are advertising it probably won't get many clicks. Of course that will depend on placement etc..

It is going to depend on a lot of factors like the quality of the site that the banner is on, where the banner is positioned, how relevant the banner is.

Steve is right - you can go through a ton of impressions with no clicks so if you are buying banner impressions don't spend a lot of money all at once and always using a tracking link so you can see how many clicks you received.

Cheers,

I use banners every day on many traffic exchanges!

I find that different exchanges work MUCH better than others!
You usually get banners thrown in with any upgrade on a TE so test them before you fork out too much cash! ( I have a good article on banners, splash pages and TE's on my blog if you are interested!)

Hi Dave,
Banners work, but I believe less then it used to be. I read an article on a new epidemic called "banner blindness", people are just not looking at them, however some sites are better than others and they place the banner in more strategic places.

It is good to see where your banner will be placed, if your banner is blue you don't want it on a blue website, it will get lost in it.

I use a lot of banners. I Probably started on traffic exchanges and profiles, but now a lot of ad exchanges are starting to pop up. If you sign up on some of the new ones, like less than 500 members, you can get a lot of free banners, text ads, and solo emails, as well as, Pro memberships.

These sites are highly responsive to WAH and money-making opportunities, but I agree, you can go through a bunch of impressions without getting very many clicks. But since you got them for free, it's a great way to test them out. They have basic stats of views and clicks on most of the sites. They also have downline builders for the other ad and list building sites, and you can make commissons or ad credits for referrals.

PM me if you're interested in the best ones to try out, B)>
