My question is almost similar to Belinda's. I would like to ask if I write an article and I use some other articles as a reference, eg. if I use Stone's training guide as a reference, do i need to list the references that I use at the end of my article?

No you dont! As long as you change the article into your own words! Thats A MUST! I think we all at times use other peoples work for ideas to write new articles! I know I do! Kym |

Hi Vorales, You need to put a reference only if you copy the whole article word to word. If you use it as inspiration or a base for your article then, there is no need. Tanny |

Hi Vorales, Accepted writing guidelines (APA, etc.) dictate that if you "copy exact words or a unique phrase" you need to credit the source. That quote comes from this Purdue resource on the specifics and gray areas of plagiarism: Avoiding Plagiarism: Is It Plagiarism Yet? - The OWL at Purdue One standard of good writing ethics is, generally, "when in doubt, give credit."
