Are You Making Money Yet?
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

I know this is a big problem when people start
out with their Internet business...

They join a program and after a month goes by,
the sign-ups and money are not coming as quickly
as they anticipated!

You see with all the different programs that are out
there and all the hyped up promises that are given,
people expect to earn mass quantities of money and
get sign-ups on a daily basis!

Well, I’m going to be honest with you –

That just doesn’t happen!

To be a success you must know a few things first..
  • You must make a budget! (Most important)
  • We all know you must have a website.
  • You must have an auto-responder.
  • You must have ‘Targeted’ traffic.
  • You need to build Back Links.
  • You need to stay consistent!
  • You need to model someone that is doing it!
When you start an Internet business you need to realize
that this is the real deal, you need focus and work each
day to build your business. It takes time, you need to
strive to get better each day. If you stay focused and
do the thing that are needed to build momentum you
will start to see results and your business will begin to
grow!

Therefore, if you are not making money yet, sit down
and write the things you do each day for your business.

Then look it over and think of all the things you could do
to make it grow!

It does not matter how much traffic you get each day you
should always strive to get more!

* Important: It needs to be ‘Targeted Traffic!’

Once you have learned all the little things that you are most
likely trying to learn now, you will have more time to advertise
your business on a consistent basis!

So, to help you out try this for one month..

* Check emails
(10/15 minutes)

* Check stats
(5/10 minutes)

* Make at least 5 forum posts
(15/20 minutes)

* Write an article, submit it to directories
(20/30 minutes)

* Surf traffic exchanges (with a landing page)
(at least 30 minutes)

* Learn something new about building your business
(It’s your business you decide how long you should spend on this!)

If you do this for one month your business will begin to build momentum
and you will soon be getting results!

Now stop reading and get to work!

Re: Are You Making Money Yet?

You know you are right about the steps to take and I realize that any business on or off line takes time to get results. And I joined the PIPS because I felt it was the best choice that I have to get the results the fastest of what is out there.
I am new to internet marketing and am struggling to figure it all out.
I was however hoping that I would be able to at least make enough sales in one month to pay for the cost of running the base subscriptions that are needed to get things going.
After 3 weeks I have gotten a 3 genuine subscribers and no sales. I have done all I can do in the 30 day program and am continually working to put in the links and articles and bloggs into the system so that I can get more leads and hopefully a customer or two before long.
Thanks for the guide lines above and I will be putting them to use to see if I can't get my sales going.
One question however, what stats should I be concerned with the most the hits or visits and how do you see them using the generic PIPs web site?

Thanks for the Guidience

Re: Are You Making Money Yet?

This is all good advice. I have heard all of these things around the forum and have been doing all of them. Although I haven't made any sales just yet, I have about 10 people in my SFI downline, 2 in webProsperity, 2 or 3 in TrafficSwarm, at least 35 on my GetResponse list last time I checked, and that was a few days ago so has probably gone up. I have modified my site a little bit on the page taht is up and I have it on my computer as well, planning to make major changes to make it differ greatly from the original site.

I am in the process of rewriting PLR articles and will also be converting some old blog posts to my new blog. Then I'll get after writing more of my own articles and probably posting several of them to tons of article submission sites for backlinks.

I'll change the link to my blog in my signature when I get the other one set up completely.

But, mind you I've been with SFI for I believe it's 37 days now, and PIPS for maybe 34, so just over a month. While I haven't seen success in the way of bringing in a profit just yet, other SFI affiliates have been congratulating me on having 10 people in just over a month. I have heard that even people who've been with it for 6 months or more don't always get that many, so I'm pretty proud of that and I must be doing something right. I'm well on the way to where I want to be. I can feel it in my bones.

To be honest, I'll be jumping for joy when I start making $700 per month consistently because then it'll at least equal my crummy limited income and from there I can build up more and more. I'm not saying $700 is my goal, but reaching that point will definitely make me feel good!

Anyway, for all you newbies out there that are even newer than I, I recommend you follow this man's advice, as well as that of many of the more experienced PIPsters, which I hope to one day be. Their advice is sound and if you take it, you will see success I am sure!

Re: Are You Making Money Yet?

If you're reading this and you are new or perhaps not so new to Internet Marketing (that includes me), and you are not making money yet...take heart!

For every success story that you read, there is also a story of struggle behind it...they just don't tell it!

These successful Internet Marketers were just like you and me when they were starting out. They also spent countless hours, money and effort to be where they are now...just like you and me.

So for someone who's just starting with IM, expect somewhere between 6-12 months before you can see some results. There are skills we need to learn first...and these take time, money and effort!

Also, in order to make money, you should take into account what are you spending towards your business.

By that, I mean, not only the money you spent for buying advertising and other expenses, but also the time and effort you put to the "FREE" advertising...writing articles, surfing traffic exchanges, posting in forums etc.

If you don't put a $ value into your time and effort, how will you know if you are/will make money with your business?

For example, it will take me 2 hours to finish an article (that's true) and I value my time at $50/hour. That means, for 1 article, I spent $100. Wouldn't it be better if I let Mr. Jeff Schuman wrote 10 articles for me for let's say $80?...and I concentrate setting-up Adwords campaigns which might make me $30/day for 1 hour of work?

Maybe this is one the secrets of those successful Internet Marketers...think about it!

Re: Are You Making Money Yet?

As I said above, this is all awesome advice. However, there are two things I will add.

1. Don't give up! From what I've seen the average person sees at least some degree of success between 6 months and 1 year. However, we are all in varying positions. Some, like me, don't have money to invest and so must put time, which can take a little longer but will still eventually yield results. Others don't know as much about computers and the internet, let alone marketing with them, so it will take them a little longer to learn. Then there are others who have experience with other programs, just not PIPS, who may take off super fast! Either way, if you remain dedicated and determined to reach your goals and you reach for them on a daily basis, you will eventually get there.

2. Mix the advice of these guys with your own personal experiences. While this advice is outstanding, everyone is different as I said above and what works for some may not work for everyone else. As Bill said, you should model someone successful, but that doesn't mean to do exactly what they are doing. If the person you are modelling, say Suzanne for example, lol had to pick on someone, but say she has the money to spend on PPC advertising for example, but you are like me and on limited income, PPC advertising is obviously not the way to go for you. However, if she is also using article marketing, that is something that you might want to see about getting into since it is free.

Point being that you have to mold your advertising methods to your specific personality and situation. Maybe you're a person who prefers to be outside a lot and doesn't mind a good long walk. In that case, distributing flyers on peoples' doors might be the answer for you.

Just remember that the only person who can really make you successful is YOU! Even if 1000 successful entrepreneurs gave you the same answers, they might not work exactly the same for you. Take advice from experts, but remember that it is just that, advice, not a perfectly written formula that will work exactly the same for you in exactly the same amount of time if you follow it like a recipe. It's not written in stone.

Nice post Bill.

Modeling your business after someone successful is great advice. Find out what others are doing and use the same methods for your own business.

Hard work though is the ultimate key to succeeding online or anywhere for that matter.

I always look at Unique Visitors and I would use a pips.html so you can keep track of your hits.

Here is a way that I do a redirect page, you can see I do it here:

http://www.PipelineIncomes.com/pips.html

Which does not show an affiliate link, instead points to my affiliate link & takes people
to my PIPS affiliate page. I do the same for other affiliate programs and for some
clickbank products.

You need to do it in your host4profit ePanel

The html you need to add into the file you create looks like this:

Example only!

Step 1: You create a new file, in this example I call it pips.html
Step 2: When that opens to a blank file you will put in the following html

__________________________________________________

<HTML>
<HEAD>
<META http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1">
<TITLE>Plug-In Profit Site - Complete Money Making Site Setup FREE!</TITLE>
</HEAD>
<FRAMESET rows="100%" border=0 frameborder=0 framespacing=0>
<FRAME name=top src="http://www.pluginprofitsite.com/main-XXXXX" noresize>
</FRAMESET>
</HTML>

__________________________________________________

Step 3 Save File. Test File by placing the new link in your browser to ensure it works.

P.S. Where the XXXXXX is place your PIPS affiliate ID# and you now have a link like
http://www.YourWebsiteName.com/pips.html

P.S.S. All you have to do is change the bolded areas for whatever affiliate program or
clickbank product you want to mask! In addition, make sure to change the url.

This is most likely different for everyone, what I have outlined is what I do everyday..

Once you master a advertising method move on to another, everyones budget is different! If you have the budget look into GetResponse leads and Contexual advertising they are cheeper than PPC.

You are dead on! I started out not having a clue, the reason I have success is this –
- I didn’t give up, never give up your dream
- I learnt from my mistakes, I did not look at them as failing I looked at it as a learning experience!
- I did it like the tortus… slow and steady!

You are starting to see the big picture – outsource what your budget allows!

And it is no secret, you see people giving that advice all over the Internet!

Advice is only good if you put it to
good use!

You will be given all kinds of advice
throughout your journey with your
online business...

You need to stay focused and not jump
from one thing to the next.

The best thing to do is drive targeted traffic
to your site! It's a numbers game! (must be targeted!)

If you are not getting results then that means not enough
targeted people are seeing your site...

Try to get listed on page one of the search engines for
your keywords and you will get all the targeted traffic
you need!

But never be happy with how much traffic you get, always
strive to get more!

Have a great weekend,

Re: Are You Making Money Yet?
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

I think before we are able to make a daily routine there is - what I like to call - infrastructure to work out and plan:

1- Linking relationship between:
a- Site
b- Blog
c- Landingpage
d- Articles submitted to directories.

2- What keywords to target

3- What marketing tools I am going to use

4- Which areas I need to automate

The above can be looked at as examples, and I am sure others will find more to add in terms of infrastructure work. After this work has finished then we can move into deciding on our daily routine.

The daily routine does not run forever as the infrastructure work will need to change every now and then especially in terms of keywords to target.

There is another thing that I have been thinking about lately in the area of article marketing: Content relationship among the different areas that I post articles at. I post articles in the following areas:

1- My website : I have a joomla site
2- My blog
3- Article directories

There is an architecture that needs to be worked out here in terms of keywords and what content is linking to what.

So for the people who are trying to get fast results, I would say give yourself the time to learn. Apply what you are learning and then learn more. It would take sometime until you are find the formula that you are most comfortable working with.

Also remember, not to flip from one method to the other before seeing the actual results.

Still, I cannot agree more with Bill, actually without this daily routine - once the infrastructure work is done - no consistent results can be expected.
