Hi Pipsters, I have been using Article Marketer to submit my articles. I seem to only get about 20 backlinks each time. I could do that many myself. My question is, Would it help my Google ranking if I submitted my article to 20 directories individually? In other words does Google penalize article submission services? Dave |

I Dave, As far as I know Google is not penalizing article submission services, or no one will ever use them. You can still use Article Marketer, and submit a different version of your article to more directories. Tanny |

Hi Dave, 20 back links each submission is not bad and it would take a fair amount of time to submit 20 articles to 20 different article directories. Although my advice would be to do both manual and automated submission. It's definitely worth manually submitting articles to the top article directories like Ezine Articles as well as building Squidoo lenses and Hub pages. You want to get as many links from as many different places as possible so it is good to mix it up as much as you can. If you articles are not indexed then the back links don't count so it is a good idea to link to your article profiles on the article directories which you have submitted to, submit your RSS feeds for the directories which have them, even link directly to any articles which aren't indexed in Google. Squidoo is good for this. No Google will not penalize you for submitting articles to article directories. Mike. |

I recommend using an article spinner or getting someone to rewrite your articles so you have more versions of that article to submit.

Google doesn't penalize you for using these services. Just try to make each submission as unique as possible. Also make sure to hyper link your keywords back to the relevant pages if the directories allow you to do so. This will help the rankings of your keywords in the search engines. matt |
