Hi Guys, Following a post I made in the WF it seems there is a need for a "Basic" accounting spreadsheet......something a newbie can use to keep tabs on their home business costs etc. I have spent the last couple of days putting one together with a focus on budgeting and am offering it as a freebie to all PIPS members. It runs on open office and so you would need to grab a copy of that first before being able to use it. OpenOffice.org - The Free and Open Productivity Suite - this is also free by the way. You can then download the spreadsheet http://the-newbie-manuals.com/accounting/accounting.ods or http://the-newbie-manuals.com/accounting/accounting.zip It takes a few minutes to load into open office so please be patient. I would be grateful of any feedback and any problems, also if you think it is useful to you any testimonials would be appreciated. Graham |

I have down loaded your spreadsheet however, I am using os2.4 and you are probably using 3.0 or higher and for some reason I keep getting an unknown error and it fails to load. Any suggestons. I have had problems with 3.0 giving me virous errors and unable to run is the reason I have not updated to a higher version yet. Hopefully when Kubuntu comes out with their new os this month it will have the 3.0. Thinks TheTiny1 |

You wouldn't believe this but the OO2.4 would not open the odt files has the unknown error. I however downloaded the xls version and low and behold OO2.4 opened it with out bating an eye. It looks interesting to say the least and I Will check it out very close to see if I put it to good use. Thanks TheTiny1 |
