Website Critique Please
Share on:

Hi,

In my lame attempt to redesign my PIPS site would you offer any suggestions please? The objective is to use the same or similar color scheme on the site compared to pluginprofitsite.com , so when the visitor clicks through to pluginprofitsite.com it all appears consistent and cohesive to the visitor.

Note that for now I am only promoting GVO and SFI on this site. The idea for this site is to get people started with the basics and follow up with them on the rest of the programs after they get started.

I like it! Good job.

One suggestion though - I would make it more emphatic that HOST THEN PROFIT is what they need @ GVO - from the very top box. HTP = required of all new applications.

By calling it GVO you are opening up a whole can of worms - let me tell you first hand -

Ignoring the instructions on the PIPS sales page,
- They will join Pure Leverage (no hosting).
- They will join Prosperity team (autoresponder only/no hosting) -
- Meet Cheap? Nooooo!

- Another thing is free trial for HTP does NOT include hosting - only the $1 trial. (these are fine 'back end' offers but not necessary for PIPS application and that is what we are talking about here so the FOCUS should be - The FRONT END = PIPS)

Anyway I like the look of your landing page Jeffery - nice amount of white space and very 'now' and exciting RED

I realize a landing page just points people to the sales page and a lot of my concerns are addressed there already -So I removed all my dialogue that I will use on the helpdesk rather than high-jacking your thread to go over technical elements critical to processing an application.

i do notice lately a lot of people who are rightly standing out from the pack by creating their own landing pages, squeeze pages etc. - I think everybody's bottom line is to make the sale -

It just 'erks' me that so many members lose sales every day because the new applicants don't follow the directions. They need real specific instructions - so don't make it sound too easy -

;o)

Nice looking site. It's clean and easy to the eyes. The only thing I would suggest is that under "Quick Start User Guide", you may want to include some simple but eye-catching images along with the text. You may also want to consider building a logo for your site so that it helps in the long term branding for your biz.

Hi Jeffery, the only thing I see is no where to click for more information. I wanted to see what landing pages you were using for each program but couldn't find a link. They might be there and I missed them?

I did see them on your slider but couldn't find them for the individual programs?

Looks great!

If this is a "lame attempt", send me a link to something you are passionate about. Ü

For me, I would think the 1st step would be to send them to pluginprofitsite.com and get them to sign up for their free website.

Once they have done that, they would traverse the many offers in order of importance, with detailed instructions.

Nice layout, and very informative.

Hi Pat and thanks for the tips. I did add HOST THEN PROFT (in caps and red) to first block.

We all have discussed the confusion before that people experience when joining PIPS. As you said.. they do not always follow the instructions. However, the instructions are in the video on the application page and it is not clear on the application page to "Follow The Instructions In The Video." It may be more clear if the application said to follow the instructions in the video and there were also screenshots of the process.

Video. Some people follow video instructions very well and some do not. Some people have no audio or slow internet connections.

Screenshots. Some people prefer screenshots instead of video/audio because the instructions are to-the-point of complete this step and ignore the rest, i.e. pay for the GVO/HOST THEN PROFIT and logout. Next step, click the link to HostThenProfit, Pay for the "domain name" and ignore the rest. Last step, complete the application and submit.

The problem with GVO/HOST THEN PROFIT is after the user completes payment the user is then presented with "Instructions" to create a domain name that the user thinks is part of the process. Herein is the problem with that... The user does not follow the PIPS Video Instructions to stop and go to HostThenProfit for the domain name.

With all due respect.. it is not a matter of "people not following instructions" but rather "people are in fact following instructions."

I know you struggle with that because I have been there. Pain in the you know what.

All I can say is people are making money off of the confusion for those customers that "Follow The Instructions" after they leave the PIPS Application.

Screeshots in a clear step-by-step process may or may not be a solution to the problem.

Thank you for all of the help, kind words and just being the Pat we all know and admire.

Re: Website Critique Please

I do agree Jeffery - I would say on average of 10 applications received, maybe 3 are valid to process. (domain/DNS & hosting login info valid ) - The other 7 take multiple error messages and back and forths to resolve - and of those I would say maybe 2 make it to the finish line. (note I use very fuzzy math - this example makes it seem like 1/2 end up valid, when in fact it is 1/4 (see below*).

When we are talking technical there should be nothing ambiguous - even to seem 'warm and fuzzy' and 'welcoming' and 'hey anybody can do this' -- because computers only understand off/on, yes/no, 0/1 - There is no argument with them! They have control! lol. sad but true.

It is clear some do not or cannot watch the video - but they are all the 'rage' and I think for other reasons they are a positive element (if nothing else "window dressing" and to 'humanize' (remember the old adage' - "people trust people").

I agree other than step-by-step logical procedures that leave absolutely nothing to the imagination that screen shots may help - of course then we are adding another 50 pages for them to get lost in.

*I will say though the majority of errors are just applications that were never intended to be serious - just an ocean of trolls with limited IQ. oooh look, i can submit the application! Seriously ARMIES of trolls - right now they have all different names and email addresses but they all add countries or states as the domain name! There are other waves like domains with no extensions...

There are some that go straight to the trash like from guys named fflksdfjdk adfeeckxk - This is tricky too because coming from other countries all over the world there are actually some real names that are not far off from that example!

Oh well - we all know EVERYTHING is an UPHILL BATTLE - maybe in a weird sense that is what makes it so much fun when we finally make it happen! No RUTS allowed here - every day is a new challenge! lol.

The thing is PIPS sales are back at levels I have not seen in years - consistently - so somehow or other people are making it through the maze.

I think somewhere this particular dilemma speaks volumes about how sponsors could actually do something to 'coach' their prospects through the process - I know this is not 'Network Marketing' where people talk on the phone and have web conferences every day - (thank you God) - but by the same token I think there is a huge void in Internet Marketing and there has to be a "HAPPY MEDIUM". Relationship-Relationship-Relationship -

Anyway, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

I'm curious, who is your target market for this page. Is it prequalified prospects, organic prospects from search results, or? I could be wrong, it appears to be a page where prospects who have signed up for an Autoresponder series might be sent?

Ill say it again just so you know, the page looks great. :-)

Hi Stephen,

I am only promoting GVO and SFI on this site. The idea for this site is to get people started with the basics and follow up with them on the rest of the programs after they get started.
To elaborate, my target market are beginners referred to me by my existing clients. So, yes they are pre-qualified prospects and yes they signed up to my client's lists. However, my clients want nothing to do with training and that is where we have an agreement... I build their websites for their lists and provide all of the support. For that reason (business model) the organic traffic is not of real importance to me, but I do write for the visitor and format for the search engines and that is why there is only one MMO link per program on the home page. The site is not complete and I will be removing and adding different web components.

Sorry for the late reply Stephen.. all of a sudden I got overwhelmed with work.

Hi Allen,

Yes sir that is exactly what I am recommending to people that find it all overwhelming because they may as Pat alluded to.. throw their hands up and walk away.

These good people are kinda like a long-tail market.

Thank you for the motivational words Allen. Always appreciated.

I should have mentioned that there will be non-pips programs that I will promote on the site. Keep in mind that this is not my main PIPS site.

I do like GVO/HOST THEN PROFIT and SFI for different reasons. The hosting is reliable, but I am still on the fence about he autoresponder's health. All of the original eSponder emails and all of the PIPS related emails went straight to cpanel, but were filtered by Gmail. Hence, there will be more web components added to the site.

The worse case scenerio is I will pull out of GVO completely.

Hi Jeffery, that makes sense because the content looked more for prequalified traffic than it eould new organic. It should work well.

I have been with GVO since they opened their doors and like them for the hosting. Lots if disc space for the money and reliable. Unfortunately I have had problems over the last couple years with the Autoresponders. In the past when I signed up for my own series using Yahoo email, hotmail, and Gmail I have had the message go straight to spam or junk mail. I also noticed a lot if sign ups who had not confirmed. These were in 3 seperates Niches. My guess is the confirmation messages went straight to junk/spam folders. A couple of the Niches would have no reason to decline because the information is exactly what they searched for and needed and I wasn't selling anything. All the messages also cleared spam content filtering so the only guess would be the sending host has had some problems. For that reason I use Aweber almost exclusively and have seen my email sign ups increase significantly.

I do have a PIPs website on there now and use Stones email series with GVO. I haven't done anything except change the theme so no idea how well it will work.

I can also add this. I am currently using GVO Autoresponder for Empower Network and have had several sign ups to the series with a small amount of advertising. I believe GVO had lingering problems at first because affiliates love to spam new offers and GVO is probably past the impact of all that now.

Jeffery,

I did a search for Internet-Marketing-Now in "Quotes" and found you at number 12 (Page 2) on Google.

I looked a little deeper into your site and found you have no meta tags for keywords or a meta tag for your site description.

While your title on Google shows up for Internet Marketing Now, and you have an exact domain name url, There are no keywords in your description that Google shows for your site.

Internet Marketing Now - Quick Start to Internet Marketing
internet-marketing-now.com/Cached
You +1'd this publicly. Undo
The Plug-In Profit Site is our #1 recommended work at home free website. In just 3 easy steps, you will be able to partner with 5 proven online streams of income, ...

You don't have any of your two keywords identified in your description, so, I would guess that Google isn't really sure what your site is about, as there is no correlation between your Title , your domain name, and your website description.

Doing a very quick keyword research, Internet Marketing Now or Quick Start To Internet Marketing have zero searches per month, and zero appearances for description matches.

The keyword - Internet Marketing - as you well know, is a very hard keyword to rank for or get traffic for, especially for a new domain. It has 3.6 million searches a month and 8 of the top 10 search results have Internet Marketing in the Title and 7 have that keyword in the description.

I think that may make getting free traffic a little hard for your PIPS Site.

While the site looks great, you may wish to consider providing the Search Engines with some additional keywords both in your meta tags and in your text on your home page.

Just a thought.

Again, I like your site, and I expect you to do quite well with it.

Allen
