Hi PIPSters,

Just want to give some tips about Twitter. I have
been using Twitter for a while and got into the
Top 5 of Singapore Twitters! Thank God for that~



Anyway, I made a couple of videos so far and
I'd like to share them with you guys. I'll post them
below this.

Here are some tips to help you with your Twitter
account:

1. Use a real picture

2. Have open tweets with other people

3. Follow the followers of the people you admire
or respect

4. Interact with people

5. Get a custom background - anything other than
the default background is good

6. Contribute useful stuff to your followers, don't
try to sell or get them to "buy" your stuff or "try
out" your program.

7. Have fun!

Hi Asher, just curious but has this actually resulted in increased email registrations, sales, etc? I am not really interested in how much traffic you get but how well it converts.

Hi Mike,

That's a very valid concern. With regards to this, it is really
about how you want to play the social marketing game.

If you want to build up a list of really good Twitter followers,
you need to feed them well - just like how you treat your
own list. The only difference is that it is out in the open.

Also, think of it as a free marketing strategy. When you use
free strategies, it's beneficial that you get tons of people to
market to.

So in response to you about how well it converts, there
are a few factors to consider.

1. Is the follower interested in that niche?
2. Have you been connecting with him/her?
3. Did you answer questions?

The lowest conversation rates are always due to no-relations
kind... however, if there's a genuine relation, then conversions
will skyrocket.

Twitter is another one of the marketing tools which you can
use for free to get lots of targeted people to follow you and
build up your own list from there.

No problem Tal, in fact, I'd like to hear your thoughts
on article marketing - seeing as how many articles
you already have online

Maybe a seperate thread because article marketing
is definitely a great way to get traffic.

Here's some validation to why being active on Twitter can be productive. Most of my updates have NOT been business related since I believe that pushing a product constantly leads to the "used car salesman" mentality - sell, sell, sell and people will avoid you. Just see what topics are of interest and try to contribute. What happens? I have had 26 visits to my website due to followers clicking on the link in my profile! Not a flood of visitors mind you, but with just over 1,000 followers it's a work in progress. Don't hang out forever either since there are more productive ways of bringing traffic to your site but make your visits quality contributions and you too will probably see some followers coming by your site.

Excellent points, if you'd like me to give you some
tips on how you can use Twitter to drive people
back to your site - tweet people to your blog posts
where you offer good stuff.

That way, you can send people to your site and
read your blog post. If they like it, they can subscribe
to you (make sure you have a subscribe form!)

That way, you get traffic to your site, you have
people reading, you may get conversions and also,
you can have a happy follower.

Win-win-win situation!

26 clicks is a good start but keep sending great
information - it'll be a great help to your business
and your followers.
