Problems With GVO

Hey guys! I'm a new PIPS member and I just had my PIPS site created recently.

For some reason though my site is SOOO slow. It literally will take 20 seconds up to several minutes for my site to come up. And sometimes my site won't come up at all giving me this message-

Quote:

Service Temporarily Unavailable

The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.

Additionally, a 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
I'm assuming this is a problem with GVO? I put in a support ticket but have yet to hear anything back.

Has anyone else experienced something similar, or having the same problems with their site being slow or not coming up?

Re: Problems With GVO

I monitor their servers and they have been having some bad trouble the last 24 hours. This is a one-off as usually any downtime is minimal. It has been bouncing up and down - (error vs recovery)

Please clear your browser cache - delete history, temp files and cookies - whenever you get an error message you need to do that.

If your PC sets a cookie to the error state, even after the server has recovered from the error - you will still go back to that page because of the cookie.

As for the slow part that usually happens when something is about to blow - in the hardware department there.

Bear with them - they will get it fixed.

Yes, the service has been atrocious and it costing sales for every minute my PIPS site is down. It was down almost all day today. Unacceptable.

Re: Problems With GVO

It looks like the problems are still going on - I have error alerts and recovery alerts from all night long and into today I guess.

This has to be some sort of hardware failure.

While the domains/websites are hosted at GVO - the sales page and any pages at pluginprofitsite.com are not hosted there - so at least these are not affected.

Yes, hitechis - I agree this is not acceptable - but some things can't be avoided - like natural disasters - and like when something breaks - you have to find out where it is and what you need to do to fix it - then you need to make the repairs, etc. and sometimes those don't work and so you have to keep on trying until you find the way to fix it.

I know they have full-time technical staff around the world working on this 24-7 -

By the way - this was across all hosts. It was a DDOS attack on Wordpress.

I had my share of problems with GVO and finally abandoned this service.

yes, i strongly believe that hostgator's message was genuine and doubt they would be defending gvo if it was their problem alone.

i guess maybe you should read the message from hostgator. click the link

bottom line is it is over for now and you can probably find 10 different news stories at news.google.com for example where they discuss the most recent major DDOS attack.

so yeah, i am sure.
