Hi everyone I was reading on the forum, I forgot where I read it, but someone's computer crashed because of a trojan that slipped past his anti-virus software. How can that happen when you have all the proper protection that you need like Norton security with all the bells and whistles? Do I need to back up my files? How do I do that? I just bought all the security I could afford for just that purpose. I hope Norton keeps me safe! Thanks Dianne

I personally can't stand Norton, but regardless, Windows has a built-in backup utility that will back up your entire hard drive. If you're looking to back up your website, Host4Profit provides a very easy solution for this which can be found in your control panel. Stay safe!

I just bought a flash drive and put all my files that I couldn't live without! You can get for less then $20, I'm sure you can find them way cheaper then that, but I couldn't remember what I paid for it! Yes, back your files up! The hackers always find a way! Good luck, |

I hate to break the news but if you are on the internet and uploading and downloading files regularly you are subject to a virus, I don't care what anti-anything packages you own. Windows Operating Systems seem to be the most targeted and therefore have the most software out there to fight these bugs. However, you look at it BACK IT UP, as Bill suggested USB drives are ideal for this especially since you can copy your files directly to them without any compression required. I personally use 3 of them regularly 2 are 2gig sticks and 1 is an 8gig stick. I keep all the important data on them as well as regularly backing up on DVD RW or CD RW's. This give me perminant files should I ever need them again. I try to copy to these devices so that I do not need any special recovery software to recover the information should I need it. BACK IT UP or LOOSE IT!! Bright Blessings TheTiny1 |

Heck, go get a 320 GB USB external hard drive for all your backup needs. That should be plenty of storage. I think even a 500 GB drive is less than $100. If you're feeling ambitious go for the 1TB drives |

Yes, S*&# happens all the time so it is definitely better to be safe than sorry. As Alan said, you can go back up your website and SQL Database in your H4P back office. Just click on website backup manager and create a .zip file for both that you can download to your computer and then save them on a hard disk. Best, Matt |
