I'm Selling My Website...
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

Hello Fellow WF Members,

There comes a time in my life where I must make a difficult choice. As difficult as it is, it’s also the best option I have right now and the one that will get me through. At the moment I’m in a financial bind with no way out other than selling my most valuable asset. That asset right now is my website.

My website means the world to me, and I have spent countless hours on building, maintaining and marketing it. Due to my current situation I need to sell it for the highest possible price.

I wanted to give my WF family the opportunity to consider buying my site.

Although I’ll be sad to see it go, I’ll be very thrilled if I can get a fair or more than fair price for it. My website HAS to sell, and I’ll be considering all offers.

My website has a lot of potential as it’s been marketed heavily and has over 22,000 backlinks pointing to it, and in actuality there's much more than that.

I don’t want to get into too much detail as I could ramble on about every little thing, but I’m going to provide as much necessary details as possible about my site.

I would also like to avoid having to put my site up for bid on an auction site, so I’m serious when I say that if you’re interested or know anyone that is, to please have them look over this and give it a serious thought.

Site Details:

http://www.replaceyoursalary.com

My well established website is hosted by Host4Profit, with a WordPress blog, Blogger blog and Article Directory attached. The Blogger blog hasn't been updated in quite some time and was at one point a PR 1. The WordPress blog is now the primary blog, and i only posted a brief summary of posts on my Blogger blog.

According to Yahoo I have 2,003 pages on my site.

Total number of active newsletter subscribers: 427

Adsense monthly average is currently $5.34, with the highest month being $17.21 in December.

On-Site Advertising Revenue: None currently

Affiliate Revenue from programs promoted: Monthly Average: $50.00

dnScoop:

23,219 Backlinks

Domain Age: 3 Years, 7 Months, 22 days

The estimated value of http://www.replaceyoursalary.com is: $12,995

Alexa Data:

Current Alexa Rank - 457,113
Sites Linking In - 75

Replaceyoursalary.com users come from these countries:

36.1% India
35.6% United States
8.6% Canada
3.9% Poland
2.5% Singapore
1.8% Philippines
11.4% OTHER

Replaceyoursalary.com traffic rank in other countries:

113,504 Canada
102,000 India
97,410 Philippines
94,482 Poland
59,003 Singapore
256,324 United States

Whois Data:

SEO Score: 78%
Alexa Trend/Rank: #457,113: Up 8,187 ranks over the last three months.
Compete Rank: #480,568 with 2,692 U.S. visitors per month

Below are screenshots of my site statistics:

This can be a very profitable site for anyone that knows what they're doing. Again, please tell everyone you know about this. I would love to see it end up in the hands of someone here or someone that plans to further develop the site as it has A LOT of potential.

Oh... I also have many backlinks to internal pages as well, not just the home page.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask, and I'll do as best as I can to answer them.

Thank you,

Alan Mater

Hi Alan,

I saw a tweet on your blog that said something of selling your blog but I didn't know it was this serious. I'm really sorry to hear this as we've been working quite closely and I know how much work you have put in on your website and blog. But I hope you will get a good offer just like Trent. I'll definitely miss all your valuable comments on my blog as you've always given such well thought of comments and feedback. Well I hope to see you bounce back from whatever problem you have that forces you to sell your most prized asset. Take care.

Thanks, Peter. I still plan to be active here, and if I can sell my website, I'll start another one and continue what I'm doing. This won't be the end for me.

Hi Alan,

That's really good to know. Well I hope you get your good offer soon and then you can start the rebuilding process. For someone so experienced as you, the second time round could well be faster, better than the first in getting to where you want to be. Good luck!

I've definitely learned a lot, and you already know one thing I would do differently if I started over. This is just a temporary setback.

Wow!

This is news I never expected to see.

I wish you luck Alan.

By the way......I was going to ask if you fancied a JV with my latest project.....maybe now is not a good time to ask.

Good luck to you anyway....I wish I could afford it, but only have fresh air in the bank at the moment.

Allen I'm sorry to see this. I enjoy your comments and have learned a lot over the past two months from them. I am a newbie but I hate to see someones baby end up like this. I too have this as my first web site and would hate to see it go.

After looking at the information you have shown you have done a lot of work and it shows me what I have left to do.

Please stay around and keep helping people like myself as I try to grow in this business.

Best of Luck to you.

Alan,

Wow, I didn't see this coming. I do not know your situation
but if it's fast cash that you need have you thought of making
a WSO?

Seeing that you offer a Certified Proofreader maybe you could
do a special to all Warriors or maybe sell some PLR's or something.

I wish you luck and hope to see you around for the long haul!

Good luck,

Thank you for the kind words everyone. It's greatly appreciated. I was hoping it wouldn't come to this, but unless things change within the month, I don't see any other way.

It has a lot of potential, and with some changes could be very profitable. I'm still working on conversions and testing out new things. Adsense is really picking up, though. It's up to $2.43 for today so far. The average monthly is $5.34, which is before I started testing new placements. I expect that average to go up.

Hi Bill,

I tried a WSO before for my proofreading services, but didn't get the attention I was hoping for. I have a thread in the Warrior's For Hire section also. I get some work here and there but not enough. There were a couple instances where I was going to get consistent work, but nothing fell into place.

Hi Alan,

I am not sure if you are expecting something like $12,995 or if you just put that up as general information but generally I think people will value your site on how much it earns. So if you are making $100 a month then I don't think you will get more than about $1,000 to $2,000 for it. Perhaps if it was PR5 or higher you might get more.

I would also want to see Google Analytics stats rather than Webalizer as Webalizer can be 90% bots.

Good luck selling it though I hope you get a decent price for it.

Mike.

Hi Alan, sorry to hear you have to sell your website. I know how it feels to have to sell something you love. I had to sell my Rickenbacker 12 sting guitar last year to help out in an emergency. Man that hurt. I hope you get a good payday when you get your site sold. Tim

Hey Alan,

I was in your exact situation just a couple weeks ago so I definitely know what you are going through. It really sucks to have to sell something you have spent so much time and energy on, and has grown to be such a big part of you.

Hopefully you can get out of your current situation and not have to sell. Good luck to you my friend. I will do all I can to help.

I'll also get back to your PM on EC as soon as I can.

Hey Alan, sorry to see you sell your site. I was in a big financial crisis not long ago and as you know had to do the same thing. Your stats look good and the site is nice so you should do well selling it. As you might remember I had Trent sell mine for me. His reputation did wonders for me and (except for my sticking my nose in) it was very easy to do. I wish you well and have you in my prayers.

Trent, didn't see you had sold your site as well. haven't been around much because of no computer til recently and very busy working a new job, one I'm quitting today for an even better opportunity. I'll look for the post where you sold your site and hope it went well for you. I appreciate the effort you put into selling my site more than I can explain. I wish you well in what ever you do next.

I've had an offer of $1,950, which I don't think is available now. Actual value is about $3,000, but with the growth of income over the past month, plus search engine rankings and other factors, it has a possible value up to $10,000.

I will sell for $10,000 right now, no questions asked. I'm even willing to negotiate for a lower price. I'd be more than happy to sell to someone here as I feel the WF is like my family, rather than selling to someone on SitePoint.

Let me know if you're still interested.

Thanks,

Alan

As a last effort to avoid selling my site, I'm looking for advertisers who would like to get targeted traffic to their home business site or business opportunity.

I'm offering links, banners, etc. at a low monthly fee. Send me a PM if you're interested. I'm advertising this on other sites as well as contacting site owners, so do hurry if you want in. Of course there is always next month .

Any help I can get to avoid selling is much appreciated.

Thanks for your support!

Alan,

I am interested in advertising on your site.

How do you have it set up? Per click? Impressions? Flat monthly rate?

What is your price list for above the fold?

Thanks,

Joel Sorry I could not PM you!

In the 10th spot for honest home business
In the 10th spot for real work at home
In the 10th spot for work at home opportunity
In the 11th spot for online money making
In the 11th spot for work from home opportunity
In the 12th spot for real work from home jobs
In the 15th spot for work from home opportunities
In the 15th spot for work at home opportunities
In the 21st spot for money making ideas
In the 22nd spot for work from home ideas
In the 22nd spot for work from home online business
In the 25th spot for working from home opportunities
In the 30th spot for online business opportunities

Here are stats for my Wordpress blog:

21st spot for work at home resources

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Thanks,

Alan

I like this better than you selling it - until you get the value up to $10k then i will be glad for you if you do.

Hang in there Warrior.

Hello Allan,

I am not seeing it as a problem rather i am seeing it as work well done. Many has problems but find no place to fall back on, but in your case you are falling back on your asset. in short that is why it is called an asset.

Your case or problem is a source of inspiration to me. it makes me believe that both wealth and asset can be built online.

So, see the whole situation as process of life which must come and go.

Good luck
