First of all, let me say this is a VERY helpful guide for those that don't know much about SEO (aka, me). Can't thank Suzanne enough for writing it. That being said, I have a tip that will help people not familiar with editing HTML. Instead of using Notepad to edit your HTML as suggested in the book, I would advise using NVU. This is the program that Stone has as a download in the Bonuses section of your PIPS Members Area. I found it almost impossible to find certain section of my site when using Notepad. In NVU, you can view your page normally, in HTML tags, and as a "page source" type document. You can edit in all 3 of these views, making it much easier to get things how and where you want them. And you can upload your page using the same methods you would have before. Just thought I might share this, hopefully it saves someone else a headache too! On a side note, once I have uploaded a new index.html page, how long should it take before it shows up? |

Hi, If your referring to a new page that you personally can see it should show up right away......if it doesnt clear your cache.. If your referring to being indexed could take 48 hours or a couple of weeks........make sure you have a link on the front page leading visitors to this page.....which helps Google find it unless you have installed a sitemap.... Take care Jeff Casmer |

Thanks Jeff, it is there now. Being new at this web editing thing, if I don't see the changes I made appear right away, I get worried that I messed it up lol!
