Hi Justin,

Everyone has given you great ideas so far. I'd also include marketing via Twitter. You can sign up for a free account and start following people. As you follow them, many will follow you back. One method is to find people in your target market that sell similar or comparable products - and then follow everyone that is following them. As they follow you back, you'll be building a list of people following you that you can message via Twitter. You can also purchase software (Hummingbird is one that comes to mind) that can auto-follow people for you. I know many marketers who went from 50 followers to 10,000 or more within a short period of time - using this method. Now, when they "Tweet" (which is posting a message on their Twitter account for all of their followers to see), they get a burst of traffic to their site - and more sales.

Another method if YouTube Marketing. You can create videos related to what you're promoting - and include a direct link to your website in your video description, as well as inside the video itself. This can allow you to profit from the millions of visitors that stop by YouTube to search and view videos.

You might also try viral marketing. I've used it to drive sales to new products and promote MLM opportunities. My last viral report was downloaded over 34,328 times (and counting) and helped me build a downline of over 5,000 MLM reps (with no phone calls). There's A TON of viral tools on the market. Just search Google for "viral marketing" and you should find a bunch.

Just a few more ideas to add to the mix. Personally, "free advertising" is how I started over 23 years ago in the mail order business - and I've taught various methods since then (in products, seminars, etc.). You can actually create and run a large six-figure biz using just free advertising. It just takes time and focus.

PPC marketing and ezine solo ads are the quickest ways for a beginner to get targeted traffic to your website.

Each will have a bit of a learning curve, but in the end, if you can learn how to use them, it is WELL worth the payoff.

Far quicker than forums, articles, or any other social media strategy.

There are many ways to acquire traffic, you need to build back links and then just use five hits to build your traffic over the weekend. Reminder: Do not use traffic exchange advertising if you have Google AdSense ads in your website. You might get kicked out of the program. The AdSense team strictly prohibits the use of artificial traffic boosters.

The whole idea for free traffic is to piggyback on authority sites (article directories, niche sites, web 2.0 sites...etc), and link to your website.

It's a good idea if you post content that you can actually rank for...so do some keyword research. You can use free tools like Google's keyword tool and SEO Quake to find backlink count to start with.

If you need backlinks, then backlink your content on the authority sites (since they're easier to rank). So pretty much you would create another tier of links from other sites (blog comments, forum links, etc... - authority site links work well for this).

Of all the replies I've seen here I like Jeff Gardner's suggestion about Twitter. Most people don't realize what a great, targeted traffic source that can be and continuously. That is, if you learn how to do it right. I learned with a guide called Twitter Profits Unleashed. See my signature for a link. It's by far the best guide on this subject, in my honest opinion.

I have never been a fan of Traffic Exchanges or Safelist's, aside from Safelist contact solo ads. Both are full of people who are only interested in getting their own ads or sites displayed and rarely spend any time looking at other ads or sites. TE's can generate a lot of traffic but little to no optin's, referrals, or sales.

One of my favorite methods, that is free, is using List Mailers. Some people refer to these as Viral List Builders. VirualURL was one of the first. There are dozens of them out there now. Most of the new list mailers are credit based and don't get near the response rate so be weary of those. With almost all of them you can get a free account and still get a regular solo ad mailing maybe once every 7 days to something like 500 random members. If you have a good subject line you will get some very targeted traffic. You can join 6 or 7 of these list mailers and hit thousands of different people every week. Some other examples are; The List Auction, Viral Hosts, Adchiever (credit based but responsive), State of the Art Mailer, and more.

Learn everything you can about organic white hat search engine optimization. There are tons of places on the web to learn, but read Google's webmaster guidelines first even though they are VERY long and take a while to get through. You'll find the time is worth it. Paying for clicks can burn up a lot of money fast especially to start with.

I used to get a lot of traffics from traffic exchange sites such as twiends, but since I sign up for google adsense I have to stop such traffic exchange or else I will get banned, Now I currently have 4 blogs, my problem is, google only crawled one of my blog and not the other 3.

for traffics, i recommend using social networking like facebook, twitter, you can also submit your sites to rss sites, or social bookmarking like digg, del.icio.us etc. you can also post some comments to forum but most of my traffic came from social networking sites such as facebook.
anyways I just used blogspot. hehehe

What I try to do is write an article and post on my blog. Wait a couple of days to get it indexed. Then re-write changing at least 60% including changing the title. Then I take that new article and submit it to high traffic high PR directories...
