Blog Transfer to my domain

Hi
At PIPS 30 days training at day 10, Stone described how to transfer blog posts from blogger.com to my own domain. But I am using word press for blogging and do not want use blogger.com for some reason.

I am posting blogs at Word Press <www.ais62.wordpress.com> now I want to transfer all my blogs to my newly created domain at <www.pluginprofitsite.com>. How I do that?
I know there are many Word Press experts out here. I would appreciate some help.
Please give instruction in easy steps as I am not so expert and in learning spree.

Here is an expert site for WordPress - see if you can find something there.

If you wan to continue to use the wordpress blog. You can download it here. After that, install it into your website by upload all the files to your website.

The installation guide can be found here.

After installed, look for "tools" category at the left hand side. Then press "import" and press on "wordpress". You need to export the file before import it to your new blog. You can export as the same way you import, just by clicking "export" in the "tool" category.

Hope it helps you.

You'll need to install the self-hosted version of Wordpress as alloke613 mentioned. Then, I would make good use of the link Pat posted. That's Houdy's site, and he does a tremendous job. He may even pop in here to give you some instructions on what you should do.

Good move on using Wordpress rather than Blogger.

Hi alloke613

Your reply is "complex thing made easy" to me. Thank you very much. It would be easier now for me following your step by step instructions.
Thanks again

Pat is Patrician, the forum moderator. She was the first to reply to the thread. She left a link to Houdy's site. Houdy is Jeff Houdyschell and is an expert with Wordpress.

Just go to the link Pat posted. ;)

Re: Blog Transfer to my domain

amreen, the steps that alloke613 stated are basically what is involved, the export/import process. If your new self-hosted blog is going to be on a H4P hosted site you may have a problem with the import process. You might need to contact H4P support to get the proper permissions set to allow access to the tmp folder to allow the import process to work. And even then if you have a lot of posts the file may be too big to be imported all at once.
