First of all my Pips Site hasn't even been up a month, I feel I'm doing pretty good so far, But I am not sure why I'm getting an average Traffic of atleast 250 hits per day and not 1 single signup yet. At this point is it just a matter of time ? Please Check My Advertised Links: Home Page How To Make Money At Home Make Money At Home Test Drive Of Course The Main Affiliate Link |

Hi Jason, Where are your visitors coming from? It is not just about the number of visitors to your site, it is also about how they got to your website. How targeted (interested) are they? Generally someone who comes to your site after searching for home business opportunities or work from home ideas in Google will be highly interested. Likewise, someone who read one of your articles and clicked through a link in the resource box, will also be very interested. On the other hand, someone who visits your site through a traffic exchange is going to be more interested in earning credits rather than looking at your site. Or someone from Adminder Guaranteed visitors who is forced on to your site via an exit popup from another site will also be pretty uninterested. So, before I answer your original question, do you know where your visitors are coming from? Cheers, Suzanne |

Another question would be... what stats are you looking at? Those hits could be yourself. Webalizer and any other host stats are inflated big time. Install Google Analytics to get a more accurate number and other relevant traffic information that you will find useful.

I'm Not sure where the traffic is coming from, I'l' figure out this weekend how to put trackers on all new advertising. I do know that my traffic swarm account goes down about about 20 points per day.

Hi, Jason: Alan mentioned the Webalizer stats not being dependable as a measurement of traffic. Also, there is a difference between "hits" and "visitors." What you want to analyze are unique visitors. There are various resources that can provide this info. StatCounter - Logout (free) is one resource and Google Analytics (free) is another. I find that these two run very close to the same for visit numbers. GT |

That sounds better, Jason. Now you just need to find out where those visitors are coming from. I'm not sure about Stat Counter, but I know Google Analytics will tell you this and a lot more.

Statistics in Statcounter and Google Analytics are much more dependable. Statistics in Wabalizer (accessed from your PIPS back office) seem to count every hit and visit no matter where they come from. What that means is every time YOU click one of your pages, it is counted in the Wabalizer stats. For example, on days when I am making changes to my home page or my blog page, my stats in Webalizer go WAY up! So, that is not a true statistic for my actual "unique" visitors. I know the visitor statistics in Statcounter look depressingly low. We all experience something similar in the beginning. It takes time to build up our true unique visits. I just use that low figure as more motivation to keep doing more of what I need to do to attract more visitors: - backlink building - forum and social site participation - article marketing - etc. GT

Well That is really good info, and easy enought to install Google Analytics too. What is the best way to setup ad tracking ? I've done it before at clickbank but not sure how to set it up on a website.

Hi Jason, Tracking plays a vital role when it comes to knowing where your advertising responses are coming. Some programs, for example like SFI, which is one of the programs in Plug-In-Profit site, provide you with the traffic tracking system, which you can use to track your advertising results with the help of key codes. These codes are then automatically captured by the computer system when someone joins SFI or purchases something through your SFI Gateway Website. This gives you immediate feedback on your advertising, so you can easily identify where your results are coming from, which sources are pulling, and which sources are not. To use the tracking system, you'll advertise your SFI Website like this: www. yourgatewaywebsite.com/9597180.14 (replace 9597180 with your own SFI ID number) From the above example, if you are using keycode 14 at one place, you could use keycode 15 at another place. This is how you can set up your ads for SFI and know from where your referrels are coming from. Damodar |

You can use ad tracking links, but there are certain places that you do not want to use these - anywhere where you are trying to get a backlink e.g. articles, forum posts, directory submissions, blog posts etc, do not use a tracking link there as you won't get the backlink. Cheers, Suzanne

Hey that is really cool, after you installed that for me I never went back, there are a lot of cool features in there. Now I can answer your question, Where does my traffic come from? Looks Like The Warrior Forum, Pips Power Group, and a few places that I placed ads on Directory Maximizer.

I Highly recommend what Suzanne says, go checkout your stats at stat counter, if you don't have one you can signup free at statcounter.com , get the code and install it. If you don't know how to do that, simply click on Suzanne's "update your website" link above. Suzanne has an excellent website update service and does a very good job. I just wish she had an affiliate link for her website update service so I could place it here for you...
