This is just the Google Algorithm trying to figure out where to put your site due to all of the incoming backlinks. This isn't what people refer to as the "sandbox", because the sandbox is something...

I've been personally seeing really good results with Unique Article Wizard.

I love how I can either choose an article to drip feed me backlinks over the next two weeks or hit them all at once......

A blog is definitely better for the long term. But don't expect much traffic anytime soon..... be sure to backlink that blog as much as you can each day. That will lead to traffic.
