I'd like to add another SEO error here --- adding bad backlinks to your website. Toxic backlinks cost you more than no backlinks at all.

My strategy has been picking niches and products with low competition so I can maximize sales through both organic and paid methods. 1000 visits a month on low competition products are real winners.
