Squidoo is awesome, because their pages get PR1-PR3 very easily (as long as your lens gets a decent amount of traffic).

Social bookmarking is good for getting your articles indexed, but it doesn't do very much for getting them to rank high on Google. Try getting a greater variety of backlinks.

I made 100 links to my site by using Link Authority articles, and my site went from PR0 to PR3 after the last pr update.

From what I've seen, it's easier to rank new sites on Google than it is to rank them on Yahoo. Just give it time, and your site should go up. :)

As far as link building goes, mysite.com and mysite.com/ are COMPLETELY separate.

If you built 200 links to mysite.com, and 100 other backlinks to mysite.com/, then you would NOT have 300 total...

I would recommend that you stick with building links to mysite.com/

In reality though, it doesn't matter all that much, as long as you are consistent with whichever URL you choose to link to.
