If you are getting into list building, just to let you know... With Aweber, your emails will end up in the promotions tab if you don't instruct the subscriber to white list you... I use a self host...

You don't need a copywriter.. You can use other peoples squeeze/sales pages for ideas and just test and tweak.. But I would not go with "adwords" though..
