Joe, I would say give going it alone a fair shot. I lost my last full-time gig in the late 1980s. It was the best thing that ever happened to me.

On autoblogs (my network of feeder blogs) I usually just go with WP Mobile Pack plugin. My money sites get a separate .M website for SEO purposes. Sometimes these end up being simple mobile landing...
