First off, if you have a 5% conversion rate, you may want to look into PPC. I highly doubt you have a 5% conversion rate or you would not be on here looking for advice, you'd be sitting pretty.

I full well agree with GuruGuna. I would also consider creating an external personal blog and an external business blog, with links back to your onsite business blog to get some extra link juice.
