For most people, the termed "banned" means completely removed from the index. If you come up on a site search, then by most people's definition you are not "banned" you are sandboxed or penalized.

I think the good thing about the foundation for both this method and Xfactor's is that you end up with sites which draw traffic and are optimized for readers to click on ads. If you lost Adsense...

Set your default to show the first 100 results rather than the first 25 and the numbers will be correct most of the time. MNF made this adjustment, I believe.
