You would need a full site to rank it on Google.
The only purpose of landing page is to pre-sell the customer before taking to the offer.
Think of it like a salesperson.

I think the best way is to get a squeeze page and a free gift to giveaway and start to build your list.As for autoresponder I'm using getresponse,I think aweber is good too but I just like the layout...

We usually use 1 sales page, a signup page and a thank you page. pretty basic really. sometimes we add a few more info pages to target other keywords.
