It does not have to be exclusive to Amazon to be enrolled in KDP. The digital version does have to be exclusive to Amazon for a period of 90 days if it is enrolled in KDP Select.

I would do both! Kindle will get u more exposure and click bank may get lost in the abyss. Kindle will guarantee more downloads only if you are in the KDP select. Also depends on what your goal is on...
