email marketing should start straight away. It simple evolves collecting emails and sending out newsltters. That should be part of your operation from the get go

If you have a targeted audience, then you should start building your list immediately with the traffic that's already coming to your blog.

If you have traffic...you should be building an email list.

I think that you are already on a good spot there , meaning that you should try to generate traffic first, before starting your campaign. This gives you more insurance that you will not be wasting...
