For Thesis 1.7, the thesis_17 zip file then opens up into
thesis_17. Inside that folder is a folder called custom-sample.
Layout.css is in there.

Re-name the custom-sample folder to custom.

as i mentioned above, you need to make sure your hosting plan allows for unlimited add-on domains.. then it's really no problem.

If you have multiple domains and are thinking you can tie them all together with WPMU that isn't going to happen.
As Istvan mentioned you either use sub-domains or sub directories.

also, you have to consider some things in regards of your hosting:

- do you have wildcard dns enabled? (so you can use subdomains...

Use Google for now. They've been doing a lot of work behind the scenes so they're probably making changes or testing something. It will be back.
