Re: Starting A Payment Gateway Business / Paypal Clone

This is a great idea and can be very lucrative if done right. Having said that, what kind of investment do you have at hand? Because you re going to need it big time. When you are handling payments,...

Re: Starting A Payment Gateway Business / Paypal Clone

Starting a payment getaway is a very hard business model. You should have a lot of employee or workers for that. For taking care of the sites, for handling payments, for attackers and of course legal...

Re: what do you prefer ?

But surely not as many as search without the word "review"? That's what matters, no? ;)

That was my reason for preferring one to the other.

Domain extensions don't affect SEO, so the .net/.com...

Re: what do you prefer ?

Go to second one, productnamereview.com.

The domain looks like professional than .net and don't forget that many people search "product name + reviews" before buying it.

Re: what do you prefer ?

I always go with .com over .net. If the .com is taken and you go with the .net you will likely get people who forget you are .net and type in .com and give your compeditor free traffic which should...

Re: what do you prefer ?

For me, one of the great attractions of affiliate marketing is not being dependent on the availability, success and continuity of any individual product, but being able to change/substitute my...

Re: what do you prefer ?

Both of your options can get you into trouble. Be sure and check if you have permission to use the name in your domain before registering. It would be shame to build up a site that gets ranked...

Re: What's the biggest mistake a newbie can make?

This as well. I remember I was about to shut down one of my sites when I first started because I went to page two to check to see if it was still there. It wasn't... and I was about to give up. I...

Re: Changing a script - permanent redirection question

Why would there be a war? That would only be true if I needed to stroke a self-deluded ego. The one example, provided by the OP, used alphanumeric characters and a hyphen. So, it was assumed the...

Re: Looking for a wp plugin

I don't know the name but they do exist. Look for video aggregator and that may turn up something.

I know they are out there as I've seen my video's auto blogged.

Re: CSS problem , apparently ...

You should put margins to entry paragraph element, like this:

.entry p {
margin-top: 15px; /*or put margin-bottom: 15px;*/
}

I dont see that defined here.

Re: Changing a script - permanent redirection question

I don't mean to start a war here - but there was only one example given that may or may not be totally representative of the site's existing URI structure.

If you arbitrarily apply your idea of...

Re: Changing a script - permanent redirection question

Yes, I did leave a number of allowed characters out of the regex because the OP didn't require it (based on the provided example). Wildcards can be dangerous. While it may not make a difference to...

Make this your .htaccess file. It will revert all pages to Canotical URLs. Just replace somesite.com and http://www.somesite.com with your request.

Re: Changing a script - permanent redirection question

You left a number of allowed characters out of your regex. It's probably better to let everything through since the rewrite's job is not to filter URIs, but to rewrite/redirect:
RewriteEngine on...

Re: Changing a script - permanent redirection question

Re: Hi .. Cleaning my URLs

Here you go:

RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} ^[A-Z]{3,9} /(.*).php HTTP/ [NC]
RewriteRule .+ http://www.yourwebsite.com/%1 [R=301,QSA]

Just replace 'yourwebsite.com' with the URL of your website,...

RewriteEngine on
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^example-1/([0-9A-Za-z\-]+).htm$ example-2/$1 [R=301,L,QSA]
