I've gave up on Yahoo Answers some time back - too volatile. You can lose your account far too easily. It's not worth spending all that time and effort only to lose it all.

Yup, they have upped their security. Yahoo answers have been a very good source of traffic for me, but now it's getting really difficult getting past them.

Use Yahoo to check backlinks, not Google.

You can submit to sites like Digg, StumbleUpon and set up backlinks on other sites that get crawled frequently to get picked up faster.

You can do all these things but many suggest you don't force google to see the links with pinging but to just be patient and let Google find them naturally.
