It isn't a change of address. The 2 sites are different. If the sites were the same and just the domain (address) changed then this is the best option.

Why don't you just 301-redirect and use google webmaster tools to indicate a "Site change of address."

A 301 redirect will push most of the link juice over to the SI domain but it won't help you with the extra relevancy that's on the MFC site. The 301 works well when you are just changing the domain...
